TV Shows I am enjoying …and Movies

Just finished season 3 of slow horses and the only season of lanterns. Both brilliant shows.

I'm looking forward to what they do with season 2 of Lanterns.

As a nerd, it was all good to me setting up a lot going forward but I understand the criticism it got.

I liked the old grizzled Hal Jordan. I liked his green lantern outfit was beat up and battered. A lot of people in my nerdverse didn't like it. Didn't care. If these morons that have probably never stepped foot in a comic book store remember some lantern uniforms are constructs of the ring and some are actual physical uniforms. Guy Gardner? We'll see what they do with him.

Also reminds me of an episode of Young Justice where they're sitting at the table about new potential members of the Justice League and the 3 Earth green lanterns are there. Someone says Earth has another Green Lantern, Guy Gardner. Hal Jordan, Kyle Raynor, and John Stoward all say no... NO! End of discussion.

Sorry, I am a nerd...

Nice — any arc you'd recommend starting with?

My go-to is Green Lantern: Rebirth.

Not to be confused with the DC Universe Rebirth: Hal Jordan and the Green Lanterns. Which led into a new run of comics just called Green Lanterns which is about Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz that share Hal Jordan's battery but have their own rings.

I'm not super into the older/classic comics even though I know the stories. Comics, like everything else movies/tv evolve with the times. The majority of my collection is from my era although times when I'm hanging out at the comic book store and talking with other nerds, I'll get recommendations to buy stuff that's before my time. Knowing the stories reading on the internet is different than having the book in your hands.

If you're curious, I would check out the comic book run of Red Lanterns. Rage is the power for red lanterns but reading the books, they're mostly not bad people, they just had bad things that happened to them or other reasons. Supergirl was a red lantern for a bit because of the frustration she had being constantly in the shadow of her cousin (Superman).

Okay, I'll stop. That's enough nerdness for now. :laughing

"Tommy", the Who Rock Opera. Not quite what I remembered from back in the day. A young Roger Daltry, etc.
Quite good. Tina Turner as the Acid Queen is not to be missed.

Watched "The Last House" last night. It was awful and made no sense.

Whoa I didn’t know super girl was a red lantern. I’ll check out Green Lantern: Rebirth. Thanks for the recommendation.

Heat is full 🔥! The shootout scene is epic as Ricky said and the acting; top notch. I love Heat.

Heat:

1. may be the first time “it is what it is” was said in a movie.
2. “That’s the discipline.”
3. Fire fight inspired by Northridge bank robbery.
4. “You got a woman?”
5. Michael Mann!

The Diplomat is Très excellent !!! On Netflix, Season 3 and 4 just dropped!
If you haven't watched Season 1 & 2 Do Not, I repeat, Do Not just jump in, you've got start at the beginning !!!
I could binge through 3 & 4 but I'm pacing myself to 2 episodes per evening.

Fury is out on Apple. If you haven't seen it, it's pretty much the true story of Tank commander Lafayette Poole. Excellent stuff.

I totally forgot about Beef S2...thanks Dubs.
