Hi,

I bought a bike 2-3 weeks ago. cheap and broken but I love it. Ordered some gear, bike will be ready in a week. Now I am here, only msf to go and i am ready. Been riding bikes since 2005. In US for little less than a year. And i am to lazy to keep writing this any more, so hello everyone.

Welcome to BARF! :bigbarf

The GS500 is a great learner bike, so you will be off to a great start.

The suspension is on the soft (bouncy) side, so ask your shop if they can show you how to adjust it for your weight, it will take all of 30 seconds, and will pay off in a much nicer ride and better experience for you as you get started.

...take your time, read up on technique and all the wealth of knowledge here o BARF, and have fun out there!

Thank you very much, I actually have some experience with bikes. I bought this one to have a cheap workhorse, and to save some money on insurance. Something to get me going. I found gs lacking in front suspension tremendously, when I get the chance I'll put stiffer springs and maybe heavier oil in, katana shock in the back... Front brake bad also... But this is probably not the place to discuss gs 500. Tnx for the welcome, I am here to learn and have fun, maybe contribute if I can.
