Chinese minis

Preliminary pics. Just got it out of the box and put the wheels on and bars. Gotta do the rest of the setup tomorrow. Really surprised with the build quality so far.

So minor update, I put the thing together, started her up, and took her around the block. seems to have pretty good power but so far it seem to have a narrow low down powerband, gearing feels a little weird but I'm not on the track and just cruising around.

also having neutral at the bottom is weird to me.

BOTH of mine came in yesterday. I put together the kickstart 155 and took it for a ride around the block. I need to drain the oil so I can drill the drain plug and oil filter nuts. I think other than that it's ready to race. There is a race this Saturday, literally the last one of the season. I may or may not be able to find practice days after that, everything up here seems to close down now even though September is also known for good warm weather??? Bummer they arrived so late, but I'll be ready for next season!

Nice! I'm hoping to race it on Sept 4,5.

Wish the axle sliders were delrin instead of rubber.

Got a bit of track time on the bike and can give some preliminary thoughts on the bike.

So the gearing on this bike is low, like stupid low. First gear is useless. So useless you can effortlessly loop the bike. Ask me how I know. The stock tires are a solid meh. They will do the job but they are a far cry from slicks and also not even the best option for a DOT tire. I played around with tires pressures a bit but i don't think I've found the magic number just yet or are even sure if there is one. 23/24r hot is what i last used. The suspension wasn't setup for me so the bike was a tad bouncy but compliant enough to have a good time. Thankfully the suspension is fully adjustable front and rear, which is really nice for a bike at this price point. the brakes did their job alright, I could get the rear in the air if i wanted. The bike had enough power but the gearing was just off. I plan to get a small sprocket for the rear and possibly a larger one for the front, hopefully that gives enough of a change. On track i was only ever in 3rd or 4th gear and 4th kind ran out at the end of the straight at sonoma. Kept trying to shift into a 5th gear that wasn't there. The bike came with some handguards I never installed, just gonna order a brake lever guard and put a bar end slider on. The bike also came with axel "sliders" that were made of rubber, which, I guess was nice that they gave you something but i am gonna fashion some out of Delrin that will actually slide and hold up to a few spills. Also came with peg sliders that are next to useless since they are just zip tied on. I guess they serve as feelers for when you're dragging peg but they will snap off in a crash PDQ. The Valves were tight out of the crate, but are easy to adjust thankfully)

So I know this seems like mostly complaints, but it's more nitpicking, I'm incredibly happy with the bike on a whole. I think it's really well put together for the money and is an excellent value for a tracktoy that's essentially ready to race. It's like a Chinese KTM. I mean that in a good way. Would buy again.

Nice "Crutchlow glare" you got going on there... please continue to update as your work on it... and more pictures please if you have them

R3d, I've been thinking about getting one of these so my girlfriend can join me on the kart track.

I'm a bit of a suspension snob, so I like to at least spring the thing for the right weight. It'd also be nice to have options for sprockets and such, but my google-fu is failing me as far as finding upgrade/replacement parts for the bike.

Have you found any good resources or suppliers for parts for the bike?

I haven't looked much just yet but when I breifly searched Amazon there seemed to be lots of sprocket options that claim to fit most pocket bikes. Another barfer ordered one of them but I don't know if they fit up or not. If I find a good parts resource I'll let y'all know. Springs in sure a suspension shop will be able to source them.
