hey everyone, I'm looking to improve my skills in the dirt. i feel that I'm an intermediate rider. I'd say I'm closer to beginner than advanced. looking for a coach. someone that can help me break down the bad habits that i know i have. someone that can ride beside me and give me input on body positioning and everything else. i know the basics of suspension but i don't know what the correct suspension set up should feel like. if that makes any sense. obviously i am willing to pay for your time. thanks. im in brentwood and can make it to carnagie for day trips. cheers everyone, and happy new year

Hope ya find a partner Jolo. :thumbup

Good on ya for seeking coaching, we are lucky to have some actual professionals not too far away

I second the Garrahan training. I felt like I leveled up a LOT in one day. I’d like to attend some of the other training mentioned like the other Brian, Barlow, at Feel Like a Pro. I was lucky enough to attend a Megs Braap clinic and although she doesn’t come out this way much I’d be willing to travel to train with her again.

Hey Jolo, we should have a Yep few days and have you and Wayne take the electrics all over the property. Also, Megs asked if we might be able to host her this year. That would be a great opportunity for you to get some top notch coaching.

Rich Larsen - IRC tire guy. check out his videos on youtube. I've found him to be an excellent teacher/coach. His style, reasoning, explanations all resonate with my learning aptitude.

Doing his class in April.

If you want to refresh fundamentals, start with this playlist. He also has many advanced techniques broken down into learnable skills.

Did you find a coach to help you? I've not been on Barf lately & missed this thread.

Many great schools/classes mentioned already. If you have the time & resources their 2-day classes are intense & worth it! Most all coach the same things, just different techniques & personalities. Doc Wong's dirt-clinic tech page lists the basics to learn & practice. (https://www.docwong.com/dirtclin/drt-tech.htm)

I'm retired from coaching, but still ride. I practice basics at Carnegie occasionally. Usually a couple of hours or so on a less-busy weekday. Any interested in joining me?

Elfin is. Are you actually on Morgan Territory?
Or… maybe you could give her some tips at StonyBARF

I live in Concord, but I have "owned" Morgan Territory Rd for decades. ;-) I used to commute back there. :ride

We could do some training at StonyBARF one morning. Maybe an easy practice ride in the afternoon. Would need some volunteer help if many are interested. I guess we should move this discussion to the SB thread?
