So I'm looking for the cheapest way back onto the kart track and am looking really hard at getting the Apollo 125 and putting some street tires on it and then just running on that for some fast laps around Stockton and Sonoma.

How bad of an idea could this possibly be?

Can you try to find out the max decibels on the Apollo 125? I want the auto. Hoping it has less top end noise on WOT than bigger dirt bikes.

I mean the motor is a honda clone so i would assume it would be similar to a grom with a shit pipe on it.

Ttr125 or CRF/Xr100 or 150 then install street tires.
People want crazy money for TTR's/CRF's now a days. SMH
It would save me about a grand to just buy a new Chinese bike.

Northwest Mini Moto has a dedicated YCF 155 SM class. The bikes are cheap and ready to race. I did a demo ride on one (~20 laps) and after also talking to a few owners at a race day I pulled the trigger and bought two (one for me, one for the wife). Closest kart track is ~10mins away and $25 for practice. Closest road track is 2.5hrs and $250+ for a track day. No brainer. The bummer is that they are on backorder a couple of months.

Actually all things considered that looks like a cheaper option.

Thanks for sharing! I'm gonna do a little research but I'll probably end up getting one of those.

Where did you order from? i cant seem to find a place selling them?

Edit: apparently MotoD a barf sponsor sells them

In case MotoD has a huge middle-man fee, wholesale cycle is where I was told to order from.

MotoD was same price and a barf sponsor so I went with them.
TRIGGER PULLED!

I'm one of you people now.

What's the ETA for yours? I've got one coming next month and another coming in late October. A tad late in the season for up here but I'm hoping I can get a few practice days and maybe one race day with Cascadia SM in before winter.

A week or so.
I got the one with the Estart motor, it was only 50 bucks more. the guy at MotoD said they had ordered a fleet of 10 of them a long time ago and are now getting them in next week and will ship then. they were spec built for motod. Maybe you could call them up and see if you could get those and cancel your preorder with the other joint?

Oooo this is a dangerous thread, these bikes look like a lot of fun. 1-2 grand not bad at all. Can't wait to see some pictures once it comes in!!

Look like the bike comes into port on the 17th. Pics n shit soon after.

Nice! My 155 kickstart gets here the 19th, just in time for the race the weekend after. I'm still waiting on the refund for the other 155 so I can reorder through MotoD for one of their electric start 150s.

tell em i sent ya and to thank them for being a barf sponsor lol

Picked it up last night. It's in a big box in my garage. Haven't had time to open it. But the eagle has landed. Probably gonna post up stuff in a week.

My 155 is stuck in Ohio, tracking just says "shipping delays" with no ETA. My 150 should arrive Monday. Definitely missing the race this weekend and likely the one next weekend too, there is only one more race this season after that. :x

Post pics/review once it's assembled!

The box ended up being a lot smaller than i was expecting
