CHP Lane Splitting Tips

Utah law " 'ONE VEHICLE PER LANE', the vehicle in front, if merging has the right of way, just like in passing.." in UT, 'doh head', NO Splitting dumb ass!

cali lets you get away with all kinds of crap!!

I'm a bit confused by these posts from Provo (now).

If you look at this page it says that "lane filtering" is legal in Utah on roads with speed limits of 45 mph or less: https://ridetolive.utah.gov/lane-filtering/

It's an official "utah.gov" site, so one would think that you could trust it.

Now if we could get something like even that weird law in Idaho, it would be a little easier to get across town.

I’m driving through town. Up ahead, traffic was slowing for a light and starting to … back up. slowing and I look at my van rearview mirror see a bike a little ways back, I assume he’s going to be filtering to my right; As I’m slowing i give the steering wheel a little turn to the left to give maybe 4 inches of my lane off-center for the bike. As the bike filters by the rider gives me a thumb up. Was a little surprised he noticed the yielding move, it was so subtle but he noticed.

That is a focused rider doing their thing :thumbup
