Though I'm British, (now a dual citizen), don't really follow soccer but do know England is always a bust except for the year we moved to the States.

My friend has tickets, to two of the games I think.

He paid zany amounts of money, and he had very little say in which games he got. There was a ticket lottery, and thats how he got them. The official WC provider. They were still crazy amounts of money, not even from scalpers. (And I must say, I tried to get tickets to a random Lakers game, just for fun. But the nosebleed tickets from the Lakers site were $400 each, so, that didn't happen.)

I think one of them is Iran v Sweden.

He may try to sell the tickets to the other games.

He's been trying to get me to go along, but I've declined. I don't know the game, and I don't think he can teach me enough for it to be interesting in one day at the stadium.

It's funny, I have been to a World Cup game. Someone gave him a pair of tickets to the game that determines who's #3 and #4 in the tournament when it was hear last in '94. We got to see it at the Rose Bowl.

And...it was a bunch of guys running around on a field chasing a ball.

The first game between co-host Mexico and South Africa kicks off on June 11 and the final isn’t until July 19.
