I had a crown done in baja. It was great. Still in there and holding strong after 10 years. You can pretty much pay for your trip to Baja with what you will save on dental costs.

assume you are talking about the small machines that take a hunk of porcelain and grind it down to fit an optical scan of your teeth

yes.

anyway I just got a big filling done(it's borderline big filling or crown ) . the insurance I have does not support a crown(payment) on that last tooth I have. SO I MIGHT STILL DO THE CROWN later, out of pocket, soon, because necessity.

but now I have to cancel the tomorrow's appointment to the dentist who last made the crown on that spot, and .. it fell off.

I had a root canal done through a botched crown done by a previous dentist at UCSF by a student in his last year. He was getting lots of compliments on his work from people who came by to check it out. About a year later and it's been fine. That too and the need for a root canal was the result of numerous professional dentists failing to fix what was once a simple cavity.

Already checked that particular item, pump won't cycle if the stand is down...and it cycles so it's no joy.

But agreed on the simple solution angle. Fingers crossed.

I had my bike die on me once. It turned out to be a plugged vent in the gas cap which created a vacuum in the tank which prevented gas from being drawn out by the pump. Just another possibility.

Had my bike get stuck in third earlier this week and a nice person pulled over and helped me roll it around until we could downshift it. Makes all the more sense after what I learned about the state of the shifter rod since then Grateful it wasn't worse.

Off to Canada tomorrow am for a while ~

I had that happen in the left lane of 80 east in Emeryville. 8000 intermingling lanes of rush hour traffic and I'm playing frogger with my Husky 610. I miss that bike although the gas gauge didn't work.

I had my bike abruptly stop one time on Wooden Valley Rd. Wound up the front wheel got tangled up in a deer.

In other news, mashed bike on 80 West right near the 580 interchange. Lots of CHP very mangled bike no sign of the rider.

Compression test/ leak down?

As soon as I break the piston loose. But low/no comp will more than likely be a symptom not the underlying cause (I'm not a real mechanic but I've seen one on tv). It died dead dead in an instant.
Since I just dropped eighty bones on an ecu I'm hoping it's a faulty ecu

Breaking the Piston loose, is a very destructive phrase to reference.

No ECU will fix a stuck piston

Remove the spark plugs and see if it turns over by hand by putting it in 6th gear and trying to bump the wheel, either pushing the bike or on a center stand

If The motor doesn't turn over, you have a serious internal mechanical problem.

The piston stuck well after the engine died so that and/or any compression issues are the result of Something Else (in my opinion, obviously). The ecu is for the Something Else.

I'm confident it's a very light 'stick' as it wasn't running hot when it died and turned over fine while I was trying to restart it, then decided to stop turning over. I bumped it back and forth a few times with no luck but the plug was in when I did that. I sprayed some lube down there last night and I'll try to bump it loose in gear when I get home this afternoon. If that doesn't work I'll use a wooden dowel down the plug hole and give it a few love taps.

I've done this more than once with my RZ's over the years. If it doesn't work I'll pop the head off and evaluate.
