Got cut 2 hours early because scenic was fucked.

But right at the same time as the orchestra so .. still gonna be 2 hours before I'm on the road.

Pretty well. Haven’t taken narcotic painkillers and the pain was a little distracting by Friday, but has tapered off. Exercises are tolerable and range of motion is limited, but improving as swelling goes down.

I just need to be scrupulous about no weight bearing until I get cleared to start putting weight on it. This will be a slower process initially than a replacement would have been, but it think the outcome will be better.
 
Just got home from LA. Drove my mom to deliver new contact lenses to my brother in jail.

I didn't say anything but in my head I'm like, da fuck? You spent 200 dollars for contact lenses because this clown is in jail and ain't got no money or means to order them himself even if he did. Buy this negro some glasses.

You know what I did last time I was in between jobs and money was tight? I bought some cheap glasses that cost me about $80, frame and lenses. Didn't even go to an optometrist because I already had my prescription. I still wear glasses even though I can afford contacts but that's mostly because the difference between glasses and contacts takes a bit adjusting to when riding my bike, as far as peripheral vision and a couple other differences. Also, the last girl I dated told me she really likes the glasses look on me. :banana :sex:geek:

Mom asked if I wanted to come inside with her to visit. I looked at her like... is that a real question? I went to a dive bar nearby and had a couple beers and read a book while waiting for about an hour and a half.

P.S. I'm reminded today why I made a choice to never ride my bike in LA again. The roads suck and some of the worst drivers in California live there. Anytime I visit a friend in LA, I take the train and then the subway.
 
Oh also on the way home, I stopped by The Habit for a burger.

I was joking with the guy taking my order telling him your sign saying The Habit's birthplace is Santa Barbara. It's actually Goleta. I know this because I lived in Goleta. He said he knows but corporate made them do it because Santa Barbara is a much more recognizable name than Goleta.
