Went yesterday sorry didn't take too many pictures. It's a pretty sad WND is now. The tower gone, $60 race fees, only 2 practice runs, no time online runs if eliminated, no drifters, etc... Feel I didn't get my monies worth if I wasn't charging my Rav4 while racing =P Rumor has it this might be last year there will be drag racing at Sonoma

At least I got to hang out with everyone, that's the icing on the cake.
We didn't start racing till 1630 we were suppose to start 1600. There were a TON of cars about 16 bikes. So we got shafted one practice run. It was pretty warm close to 80F but it quickly cool off after couple hours.
Tried to go for a fast pass with my new setup and beat my 15.8 ET because no head wind for the first pass. Even with 30kw, 800 Phase amps, Chi battery Gladiator 72 Compact, no wind, and shallow staged, I wasn't able to beat it. Ran a 16.022. I beat Eric on his Honda scooter though bwahaha.
2nd practice pass I dialed the power back to 22kw to get more consistent runs. Now with a slight headwind I did a 17 second pass. Full second slower. Reaction times a little rusty with .190 first pass and .160 second. Sad thing is that was our last practice run and eliminations starts.
So with pretty much only 1 pass to go off of I dial in a 16.9 to be safe. I race Dylan on his FZ6, he was a new guy from San Jose. I coached him a little but he only got 1 practice run. We take off and I fell asleep at the light an awful 0.389 light. Off I go and as I get to the finish I see Dylan coming in hot and my win light go on. Dylan broke out by nearly half a second. He dialed a 13.1 and ran a 12.7. I live to race another round. I ran a 17.1 vs my 16.9 dial in so didn't have a good run but I didn't break out.
2nd round come along and I race I think his name was John on his Triumph Daytona 955. I thought I might beat him because I've never seen this guy before. So I think I'm going to run slower again so I dial a 17.0. We go and I try my best at the light staging deep and I get a 0.055 light best one of the night! I run a 17.2 vs my 17.0 so I'm 0.2 behind. Well the Triumph dials in 11.40 and he runs a 11.477. He's off his dial by 0.077 seconds vs my 0.2s! My RT was half as good as his though with 0.055 vs .117. In the end I lost to him by 0.0574 seconds. I made a mistake not chasing my dial closer. I was always .2 behind I should have chased it closer and slowed my dial with a 17.1. I had .1 second more I would have won. But hats off him he had a great run!
So I'm eliminated and I want to go do practice another 30kw run so I can get my money's worth. I was lined up with someone doing time only and I'm right next to them and they tell me since I've been eliminated I can't do a time only practice run. I'm like for real this guy is running by himself what harm is there for me to do a pass with him!? Yeah not cool.
So in the end Sean Baldo won on the brown Concourse against the dude I lost to on the Triumph. Congrats Sean!
Overall I had fun but I feel I paid more money and get less is what I was feeling. Haha I was hoping this'd be the night to win because Doug go eliminated in the first round with a break out. Doug got a new bike also a Triumph Bonneville T120. The wait between run was pretty nuts 1.5hours! 1 hour after eliminations. First race of the year so I guess I can understand.
