2025/2026 NFL Thread

Oh that halftime show was just like WTH is going on. Couldn't understand the lyrics. had no idea WTF was going on with the props, I mean sugar cane fields, giving a grammy to a kid, random dude singing, Lady Gagas robot double trying to dance, and then people dancing on power poles. Good thing the bar had enough liquor so I could make it through it.

I'm not going to pile on the halftime hate. There is enough of it for reasons other than the music.

I didn't like it, but I haven't liked 98% of them.
No music I like or prefer would ever play at halftime.

I will just say "it was not for me" as I don't listen to or like any pop, hip-hop, raggeton, etc.

Kudos to the NFL for sticking with it in the face of the pushback.

No, kidrock, you did not play the Superbowl halftime show

I will say all the negativity made me want to sit through it to see it.
Glad it wasn't country music, most intolerable music on earth.

The NFL is trying to reach audiences who don’t regularly watch football. 9 games in other countries for example.

First superbowl with no fouls called in first half.
Given that the seahawks are one of the dirtiest teams in the NFL, especially their pass coverage where they have a habit of contacting the receiver before the ball gets to them, then there is the holding by their O line. It was probably no surprise that there was a lack of many replays, Seattle seemed to be the anointed team.
Right after they said no fouls before 1st half there was a oline holding call, commentator jinx

The network delayed the playback on that pass attempt 'fumble' until after seahawks kicked the extra point, preventing NE from seeing that his hand had, in fact, just started forward. It wasn't much, but it seemed intentional to delay it, just as it seemed intentional that they didn't really show playback on NE passing failures.

I know how dirty seahawks play defense against receivers after the SH/SF game.

If we are thinking of the same play, the Seahawk defender caught it out of the air cleanly. No fumble. No sack, it was an interception.

90% of the halftime show went right over my head. I know the power poles were social commentary. I enjoyed the celebration of the Americas at the end. I though all the flags at the end was dope.

Do I get the appeal of Bad Bunny? Nope. Is it ok that not everything is for "me?" Fuck yeah it is. It's also impressive that Bad Bunny had more rushing yards at halftime than the Pats did :laughing

When the defender pulled it out of the QB's hand and ran for a touchdown.

Is this what you are talking about? It's a pick 6. Neither ball or QB hits the ground before the defender is in posseion of the ball .

Edit: this clip is on super lockdown on youtube

3:50 mark of this one shows it clearly and the replay.

Look at the play at 3:52 of your video. That is the one that I'm talking about them not showing the replay until after the extra point click.

Ball went from the qb's hands right to the defender, forward motion or not, doesn't matter.

There is a different angle that shows it very clearly, you can't see where the ball goes in the one linked above, but it's crazy it travels about 5 ft through the air directly into the oncoming defender and he catches it and runs it in

Yeah, totally crazy play. I though it was going to be a questionably "forward motion" kinda play too until i saw the replay. Straight up catch.

Yeah, remember when halftime shows were sensible and easy to understand and captured the spirit of being a good olde proud god fearing American!
