Raiders went crazy in the draft with the #1!

They picked the right guy. I think the Silver and Black got a winner. He is gonna need help.

There have been some great quarterbacks who have had their NFL career significantly shortened by getting drafted by a shitty team that didn't do a good job of protecting them.

Nearly every QB picked in the 1st round is a bust. You just described why. QB's do not save a team. QB is not a rescue plan. Draft an all star College QB to a trash team. you get Daniel Jones and David Carr.

You need to build an offense first, THEN you draft a top flight QB as the crown jewel.

Along those lines, I am not mad about my picks. Arvell Reese and Sisi Mauigoa are both OK. Love me a beastly Defensive Lineman, but Reese is still maybe too young to be picked that High. We will see how he adjusts, but Harbaugh may turn him into a monster.

Wasn't really looking for the O-Line in the 1st round this year, but I love me a Samoan Lineman. I have never seen even one of those guys turn out to be made of glass or have a dysfunctional personality. Mauigoa will probably be a line warrior out there for a decade straight, I'm for that.

My biggest beef about not getting Styles or Downs is that they were picked up by the fucking Cowgirls and DC

I mean, that isn't crazy at all. It was probably one of the most boring picks in a long time. Everybody knew that was it, all the mock rafts had that one locked for a couple months. There wasn't even speculation of anything else, because Mendoza was the only QB worth a damn in this draft, so not even, which Top 3 QB will the Raiders Pick? Scenario.

In a crazy turn of events though, it does look like Las Vegas may have decided to finally abandon the Raider way and actually try to develop a grown up football team.

Drafting Mendoza with a start worthy professional like Kirk Cousins already the locker room to go ahead of him while he learns the adult game is a sign of true professional football planning. I am concerned Brady is rubbing off on them and they may be abandoning their traditions and instead trying to design a team to really actually be competitive with other pro football teams.

I hope they have chosen a new way, I would love for Las Vegas to be home to a new team with a winning identity instead, but I am not ready to believe just yet.

the league is better when the raiders are decent.

unlike philly. fuck them.

LOLLLLLLL RAMS
I don't think it is a bad move. Homie was picked a little high IMHO, but Mattford is almost 40. Bringing in a quality first round development guy to sit behind Stafford while he is on the last year of his contract in 2026 seem like a killer idea.

Now THIS PICK on the other hand is a shit show. As if Saquon Barkley wasn't a big enough warning to the world. The Cardinals are very possibly the worst Team in NFL History. A over all .419 win record is better than Tampa Bay's .412, but that Team has been shitty like this for more than 100 fucking years. It boggles the mind.

rams NEVER have 1st round picks they always trade to win now.

picking a developmental QB with a top half of the round pick is monumentally dumb for them. Even if he ends up being decent, it's gonna be 2-3 years out of his cheap 5 year deal that he's on the bench.

Their SB window is open NOW with Stafford still MVP level. I'm honestly glad that they didn't take one of the top tier WRs, since Davante is ont he wrong side of 30 and Nacua is apparently going insane.

Brock Purdy told me that you should have a good rook on the bench, even if you are playing for keeps.

It was genius that Alex Smith lost his job a year after he achieved a record for the first time the Chiefs won the AFC West back to back in the entire history of the team. You don't pick a QB to win this year, you pick him to win 2 years from now, I stand by it as smart planning. If Mattford still has gas in the tank after this season, maybe you try to franchise him for one year more, but from both an ability and Cap perspective, the need to plan for that era of Rams football to be over very soon.

now think about SF with Chase, Pitts, Sewell, Parsons, or Surtain instead of Trey Lance.

Brock was a 7th round pick. Lance was a developmental pick during a win-now window.

I am hoping that the awesomeness of Mendoza lifts the Raiders back towards being a playoff team.

Niners with three picks today.

The last time the Raiders drafted a QB in the first round and ended up starting his rookie season...Derek Carr.

And who was the vet QB the Raider signed for Carr to sit behind his rookie season...Matt Schaub.

Will history repeat itself?

Slim chance. Cousins is a far better QB than Schaub ever was.

@MC BumSlap, I’m a hater.

I can’t understand why a fan base that has been shit on so many times still supports such a horrible organization.

The last time the Raiders drafted a QB number 1 overall…how’d that work out, Jamarcus Russell 😂. And they didn’t go anywhere with D Carr.
