Ohhh....I agree. But I feel the screaming is not going to make a comeback. These new engines do sound a little more "mean" than the previous engines.

Agreed. More and more people will be F1 fans who have never heard the screamers, they truly sounded like nothing else.

Reddit/YT comments are already full of ppl thinking the new engines are louder than previous. I’m not so sure yet. The MGU-H was another turbine btw the combustion chamber and the end of the exhaust. Removing it could make the cars louder. I wanna know how much louder.

Interesting evolution. I'd thought that the longer wheel base was to give greaterr stability at greater speeds, shortening the wheelbase is not an intuitive move.

Shorter wheel base and narrower track will make them more nimble. That's a good thing. And because of no ground effect/venturi tunnels, don't be surprised if you seek them raked again.

Remember, F1 cars of the W12 era were as long as a Chevy Suburban.

I'd imagine if they removed the hybrid power unit, we'd be closer to the smaller F1 cars of the V10 era. But with safety and regulations, I don't think they'd be that small but perhaps somewhere in between.

Honda showed off pics of their PU. The electric motor and battery look huge. It’s all relative since the ICE is small. But it’s def adding to what’s possible for min length of the cars.

Wonder what the start up procedure is for these engines. With such tight tolerances, I would imagine they need to "heat" the internal parts before they fire it up.
