Arizona defines specific acts of lane splitting as reckless driving.

They're directly equating splitting lanes with aggravated DUI, vehicular manslaughter, negligent vehicular homicide, and racing.

For passing traffic in their lane with a 2mph delta.

Fuck Arizona.

For more fun, the first offense is comparable to:
  • Feeding Garbage to Swine Without a Permit
  • Failure to Surrender a Telephone Line for an Emergency Call
  • Refusing to Give Your Legal Name Upon Arrest
  • Second-Degree Criminal Trespass
The second offense is comparable to:
  • Rigging a Claw / Crane Game (arcade game)
  • Equine Tripping for Sport
  • Defacing, Removing, or Unlawfully Harvesting a Saguaro Cactus
  • Attending a Cockfight
We'd be in good company.

Signed into law by Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho?
Do not piss off the President. Punishment? Rehabilitation!

This tracks. Arizona was the only place I ever rode where someone opened a door on me. I realized that didn’t matter what law was passed but that the culture was the problem

So dumb, what is a normal occurrence in California is blasphemy in other states.

I wonder if this qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment under the eighth amendment?

Maybe some smart lawyer could argue this and get the law changed.

Aside from the immediate legal troubles you face, forever more
this will come up on employment background checks and can be limiting in some cases.

That checks.
I am sorry Mr Monster.
Your misdemeanor for lanes splitting shows a lack of rational decision making and we at McDonals cannot afford to have you flipping burgers
.

I also posted the names of the Bill's sponsors so we could ridicule them. :laughing

In general agreement of F Arizona, but did anyone read the article that states....

However, the law does not apply to lane filtering. Lane filtering remains legal for motorcyclists who are passing stopped traffic at speeds of 15 miles per hour or less.

So, not completely insane

Ha! I don’t even have my glasses on and I did not expand that flashy image enough to read that bit about legal filtering 🤓

The image they chose is a poor representation of the issue.

It’s been years, but that door incident I experienced was not the only aggressive anti lane sharing thing I felt. I wonder if it’s really changed much?
