2016 S1000XR - Sport Touring at its finest

I bought this bike from the original owner, a fellow BARF'er, and have had it for 3 years with zero issues. It is set up SO nicely. The suspension is fantastic, fueling is perfect and the bike just wants to eat up the miles at whatever speed you like. But though every ride on it is a complete fun fest, my life is not yet at the point where I have enough time to enjoy it. Mileage remains low and the trick, quick release side racks and beautiful Givi side bags just gather dust and remain as new (I think I have used them a total of 2 times).

recent dealer service
fresh Bridgestone S23's front and rear (~ 500 miles)
mint condition; not a scratch; always garaged

Premium package:
- Dynamic ESA Pro
- ABS Pro with lean angle ABS
- Gear Shift Assist Pro (quickshifter - very slick)

People love “ADV” bikes. That’s been the market segment many well heeled buyers have been leaning towards in recent years. I’ve had several of them myself. They're great. But I’ve got to say - this thing is awesome. Call it a sport tourer, an upright superbike (yes, please) or whatever you like. It’s amazingly competent while still being exhilarating. The ride is so planted that it feels like cheating.

I know it’s currently a down market for bikes (I don’t fully understand why) so I may end up keeping this one and be forced to enjoy it for a while more. But if you’re interested or have any questions then just give a shout.

Cheers ~

Nicely setup sport tourer. Six weeks ago I would’ve seriously been checking this out.

Thanks. Yeah, timing is… …everything.

I’m just trying to pay it forward. Whoever gets this bike is going to be psyched.

I have exerted very little effort to sell this bike. But it is still in my garage, still perfect with just a handful more miles and still available if anyone out there wants a fantastic do everything street bike. I could use the cash with another daughter heading to college. Mercy.

Cheers ~

Bump and another (final?) reduction to $9K. The bike is loaded, perfect and ready to go. New XR's are well north of 20 grand and this one is mo better.

College tuition is insane otherwise I'd keep all my bikes and retire.

190. With the electronic suite you can choose with the touch of a button:
- solo
- solo w/luggage
- 2 up
- 2 up w/luggage
…and it’s bang on.

The bike is fantastic all around. But the high zoot suspension is why I bought it. It’s as good as it gets.

I've had mine for about a month, and can say these bikes are insanely fun in the twisties but are also comfortable on longer rides.
I was worried that it wouldn't be as much fun as my FZ-09 was, but it's just as flickable.

And 160hp. For.... reasons. :devil

Having seen this bike and with the stuff on it I am surprised it has not sold.

Curious, what’s your mpg fully loaded? I was looking to switch to electric but at this price I’m very tempted. Also, would be willing to do a trade for my 2016 R1200RS with cash on top?

Typical mileage is low 40's.

Sorry, not interested in trades. Need cash and space.

Just a couple questions, does a full face helmet fit in either side case and do you have the original parts from installing the fender eliminator?

Howdy.

A full face helmet fits in the side cases (though I almost never use them). I just use the top case when I need to carry stuff (and a helmet fits in there with plenty of room to spare).

I'm not sure if the original fender is among the box of parts I have but can take a look. The eliminator was installed by the original owner and is way nicer anyway.

Well, it either is or isn't. I't looks amazing to me & helping with tuition sounds like a worthy cause. My name is Fred Leonard & I live in Colusa so a couple hours away. When are you available?
