What's your boot of choice?
I've become a boot snob and can't find the thread I posted years ago, if I even did. My first pair of 1000 Mile Wolverines in blue turned into 4 pair of 1000 mile boots, a pair of Truman (love!), pair of Allen Edmunds, pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers I spent too much to resole but will last forever, and I just added a pair of real work boots. Not to say any of my others can't be work boots but that's not what I got them for.
These Timberland PRO Gridworks Work Boot are really nice! I was using some low top slip in Merrells that eventually fell apart. I chose these Timberlands because they have a rubber outsole, not the poly foam that wears really fast. These also have a steel shank so shovel work or ladder work wont kill my feet. Also water proof. I did slip in arch support insole and they are perfect. Took two weeks of 6-8 hours to break in.
We got my sister a Nick's Boot gift card for his b-day. He's opted for a $600 pair of custom boots that are taking 10-12 weeks to make. He works on heavy machinery in the field and shop.
New Tim boots new versus a month old.
Now
The Iron Rangers I bought used but sent out to have a leather midsole added and a new green Dr. Sole heel and outsole added.
