Cars that make your jaw drop.

I can hear the doors, trunk lid and hood hinges CrEakINg right now!
And if it's not a '65-'66 with the 273 Commando, 235HP V8, 4Spd and Formula S package I'll pass. :x
Exactly. Very Plymouth Valiant.

I could hear the creaks and rattles from my car. :laughing
Definitely had a manual floor shift and a healthy sounding V8... I'd drive the shit outta that thing! :thumbup

My grandpa had a cuda like that but in better shape I wish I knew then what I know now and would have snatched that thing up.
'Cuda or barracuda?

All 'cudas are barracudas,
but not all barracudas are 'cudas

You can't interchange the name

It's like calling all Camaros, z28s, or all mustangs, Shelby's

ok. it was an old barracuda exactly like the picture posted. I am not a typer so shortened the name. don't harsh my gen z mellow on shortening everything as I can't be bothered to say the complete name of anything. :hand 🤣

Typing Laziness is easily forgiven

Calling a barracuda a 'cuda, not as easily.

Respect the mopar
🤣

Oh I respect the Pentagram. My car history is full of Mopower vehicles. First car was a 70 challenger. second was a 73 challenger, supplementary vehicle was a 75 Dodge truck. then went Nissan to my everlasting shame and am now working on bringing the 70 Challenger back to life.

I'd add this one to my fleet of 20/20 cars, too!

Rear facing 3rd (4th?) row seat please
Bonneville Safari - No
Catalina wagon - Yes
Although there was a Muncie 4 Spd option available.
The one I rode "shotgun" in, cruising East 14th Street on Friday and Saturday nights, had bucket seats with center console with the 400 Tubro Tranny.
One of my best friend's Dad was the Used Car Manager for G.E.Daily and was always bringing home really sweet cars and letting us take 'em out!
Stuff like: '65 Facon Sprint GT w/289ci HiPro engine, w/4Spd, B on B.
'66 Corvair Corsa Coupe w/Turbocharged 2.7L - 180HP (flat 6), 4Spd. That car was a frickin riot on Mines Rd.
'68 Mercury Cougar XR-7, w/428ci Cobra Jet, 4Spd and A/C - we be "Styling".
396 Chevelle's, 383 Road Runner's, etc, etc, etc...
Even some Pick-Me-Up trucks like this Power Wagon (except for the "bling" wheels).

Life was good. Living the DREAM !!!

Seen this thing a few times on my drive home.
No apparent rear window or mirrors. :wtf

Finally caught a pic. It sucks. Sorry about that.

There is a dude in it for sure.
He is running the same route as I.

I see zero tech that would say it knows where the fuck it is going. :laughing

Finally got my 1st Mercury home.
Now that I'm fully retired I can work on it whenever I'm not out RIDING!!
This thing dwarfs the cherokee behind it.

:teeth
byke, Big Block wagons make me moist too.

I went back up to Happy Camp a few weeks ago and got the second Mercury wagon off the hill side and rescued it from a sure death by crusher.
This is the rarer of the 2, and a really nice find. The body is in MUCH better shape, and the interior, though dirty and stiff, is fully intact with no seat tears.
1968 Mercury Colony Park 10 passenger wagon.

As you can guess, my wife is Super Stoked to have 2 dilapidated old Mercury wagons at the compound, but she knows that it makes me happy, so she is happy for me. PLUS, she knows that someday, in the future, she can drive one of these beauties around town, being the COOLEST grandma ever!
When I get to the serious stuff, I will start another thread, and post up progress.
