Dubbington
Slamdunk Champion
I'm doing my renewal currently. Since I reside in the CoCo county I go through the Sheriff. Every county is different. I guess CoCo requires qualifying at the Sheriff's range as opposed through a CA DOJ approved training company. They can be more forgiving I guess.
That said, not including ammo costs on range visits to stay fresh and prep, it's gonna be at least $400+. Last 2 range visits I went through 150rd of 9mm and 50rd of 10mm -- $$$. Fees are $200 for mandatory 8 hour course, then fees for the paperwork and processing. It took me 18-20 months initially. Renewal supposed to be faster. I guess for the renewal I have to get 3 letters of reference and some other BS. In Alameda county a psych eval is needed.
Then the actual test to qualify in CoCo is below. I passed 2 years ago but was going to the range more often and did a couple private lessons that helps A LOT! I need to get better and dry firing and holster draw 4+ nights a week.
Total rounds: 18 rounds per firearm.
