Defense attorney in Salinas / Monterey County recommendation please

I'm pretty sure the alcohol thing has to do with liquor laws. They don't advertise it, but likely have to do it to keep their liquor license.
Yup. It's illegal in Ca to do "club" sales of booze IIRC. Good to know if your having a party and need to stock up, cocstco is an option for everyone there.

How does one get past the card checker at the entrance without a membership?
Just tell them you are there for the booze?

Yes, booze only. "I'm just here for alcohol."
incorrect.

You go to member services and they give you a "temporary membership" that will only allow you to purchase the sweet devils sweat. You cannot purchase anything else with it.

Otherwise they will not allow you to enter because you dont have a membership to scan in (all costcos require scan in now)

I always choose the slowest moving line and stand in Wuji while in it.

I’ll DM you

TIL :

Wuji (無極) in Chinese philosophy and martial arts
refers to the "primordial void," "boundless," or "infinite" state before the differentiation of yin and yang (Taiji), representing pure potential and non-duality, often practiced as a still, balanced standing posture (Wuji posture) in Tai Chi and Qigong to cultivate centered awareness and grounded energy. It's the ultimate source from which all phenomena arise, a state of complete emptiness and integrated wholeness, crucial for inner balance and adaptability in practices like Tai Chi, as noted by learnreligions.comand internalfightingarts.com.

Man, I keep looking in on this thread hoping to read that Target has come to its senses.

Nope.

Good Morning: Not yet. The store manager goon did tell her that her next step is to wait for a subpoena to come in the mail, if there will be one. I crossed my fingers and toes when she told me that, as did she. Mine are still crossed.

Hope OP ‘s friend wiggles out and I’m surveilling my own self checkouts.
Fun Factoid: since Costco/Sam/what'ev accepts Medicare in their Pharmacy- all must be admitted. Often cheaper, used to just tell them pharmacy but no clue about the scan access.

I don’t use self checkout because I don’t work where I shop. Is it convenient? Yeah. But I ain’t getting paid, and there’s no discount for doing it, so someone who’s getting paid can do it.

Also, plead the case. See if you can get it reduced to a petty theft charge. I can’t imagine with a clean record you couldn’t get reduced to an infraction.
If I've got a cart full I'll to to a checker. If I've got a few things, I'll avoid the lines and use self check. Beep boop, swipe the card, and I'm on my way. Don't have to talk to people that way.

There’s pros and cons of self checkout, but the one thing I absolutely don’t do is “I’m going to wait in the longer , cashier line, because I insist so!!!” …

Also, Costco liquor without membership works like bs. It’s cash only . And perhaps needs an escort--from door to liquor and back--pending on when it is or current policy

Thank you, I most certainly will. She is quite anxious to put this behind her, in her rear-view mirror. She constantly worries about things that have happened, that she neither has nor did have control over. I tell her that is like looking in your rear view mirror; it is behind you now, let it go. Sometimes it helps, at least until the next "issue" bubbles up to the surface. Ay ay ay.....

You're a good man Ken.

No subpoena has been issued yet. Is there a statute of limitations for this type of infraction? If so, I think it would be on the order of months or years, $7.00, sheesh.....
