Do you wear a watch?

Looks good. The numerals are reminiscent of a certain Glashutte Original watch.

Experience made me realize how nice it is to shop for something in person versus a spreadsheet

yep. Definitely in person, is a better experience because you can see how things look on you, whether they're readable etc.

I knew if I went to windup I would leave with a Kuoe, that's why I did not go lol. I did visit CH premier a few days ago to see if they had the Grand Seiko SLGB003 yet (release date is June), nope.

Nice.

Never heard of that French company before.
They revived a dead brand via Kickstarter. Really try and play up a loose Neil Armstrong connection lol. They mentioned it when I first walked up to the booth. That was the only turn off about the brand.
I actually did buy something at the show.

One knife vendor there out of 80 watch brands and that’s who got my money.
Glad they were there. I've been on their mailing list for a while first time seeing them in person. More likely to buy one now

The new model, sombrero, with the internal rotating bezel was the most tempting. Classy retro vibe.

Looks like a great automatic watch for $500.

Less than it cost me to have my auto Omega serviced and nobody would likely know the difference.

Saw that model googling. It was a visceral impulse buy but it's still 2025 lol. kinda a general 60's French dial.

Thats one thing about the dr. Jones watches they're definitely original. But a tad too much $ for me to give into my whimsical side. I tried on the tiger from them.

Is your Omega finally working well after the nightmare service issues?

Hey watch nerds. I'm not a watch wearer but I'd kinda like to get my hands on a WWII vintage A-11 GI watch. Curious what decent examples go for.

Just got my Navitimer back from Breitling.

I've been wearing it basically every day since 2019. It goes to the wastewater plant 4 days a week every week, I bang it into concrete posts, it gets poopy, and it been soaked in unfavorable..... fluids.

I was losing about a minute a week and the outer dial was stiff.

Paid the $850 for a full refurbish and polish, it looks amazing - minus the wear on the leather (I have another band if and when I want it to look totally new). And it keeps great time now, so worth it.

Well that beats the shit out of playing snake on my Nokia 25 years ago.

Disposable appliance watch, but putting it here anyways.

My brother in law needed a new smartwatch, so I gave him my old Apple Series 9 and went up to the Ultra 2. The bigger size of the Ultra seems to work better for me. Not sure how long the mesh bracelet is going to work out for me at the shop, but we’ll see how it goes.

yeah babe. It's pretty cute, good for micro-mobility, and does have that "not everyone's cup of tea" feel.

On Watch related news, my Seiko "Speedtimer" is about 5-6 seconds a month ahead. While a very corresponding but 10-15 years older Citizen AT4010XX is 4-5 seconds a month behind. (the citizen is atomic/radio set, BUT, you can leave it in Chronograph mode and then it never receives for the month that I was eyeballing it.) So, strangely "Citizen kinda wins" but they all have their tricks and differences.
