Gas Prices

I have a company vehicle for commuting so not impacted too bad by the increasing prices.
Lots of Dodge Rams in the parking lot at work though driven daily by the hourly folks. Even before current prices it seemed nuts to commute in such excessive guzzlers.

A little over $91 to fill up my Lexus GS350 with premium at the Marathon in Fremont. Still .16/gal cheaper than the local Costco.

Prices gonna go up and up some more. The strategic reserve is blunting the effects right now, if this goes on much longer that won’t be enough. Went up 40 cents from Sun to Mon here. For those with multiple fuels cans stockpiled, I’d use that gas so it doesn’t get old and keep rotating and refilling your cans as you goz.
My kiddo drives a state Ram 1500 and luckily has a state gas card as she drives alot. Upside is she passed a year without having to get towed out of any forest mud patch so she can hold her head high amongst the many men who have had to call for help.

Bought plane tickets for a flight to the east coast. Made the same trip last year using my airline points and had to pay nothing out of pocket.
Using the same amount of points this year for the same flight I now have to pay an additional $3200.
Not using any points the flights would be $6100.
Guess there’s a lot less inflation if you don’t leave your house.

My son is insisting that I grow a garden again this year and I think I am happy about that. Fewer trips to the store for fresh stuff might save me a little money.

damn good thing I bought my tickets like 4 months ago before the shitshow happened. that seems like a pretty steep gas surcharge if it wasn't a work paid thing I think I might have sttayed home for that one.

Hopefully the airline doesn’t do something sketchy like cancel you’re flight for not being profitable.

I'm happy that my son, as a Foreman, has a work truck and company gas card and his wife works from home. Still sucks that everything we need will continue to increase.

Well heck fire, I guess my son's inheritance is going to be easier to spend down......:D(y)

If I had to pay for my commute gas for sure I’d be shopping for an electric scooter.
Dude at work commutes on an electric unicycle. He takes the pedestrian bridge just outside work that dumps him straight onto a mayor bridge on his commute. Getting to that same point by car easily takes 15-20 minutes dealing with traffic light lineups and the longer route cars take getting to the bridge.
