Just saw a video that popped up on my YT algorithm about SB948 and got to thinking about the BARF Militia. As much as I love California (having spent 33 years of my life there, they really love to punish California gun-owners. Background checks for ammo now? What the fuck.

I made it out 2.5 years ago, taking two safes full of guns with me. Ironically one of the main reasons I had for wanting to move out of CA (2A freedom) became a complete non-factor by the time I did move out because I had lost interest in guns and was out of touch with the gun community. After 2016, it seemed like the 2A community shifted hard right and I wasn’t down with it.

On top of that San Jose decided to bulldoze 10th St Range taking away and my own 24-hr “private” range and my nearly 20 years of RSO responsibilities (at 10th and Metcalf). Luckily my buddy had access to the SCCPOA range off Hwy 9 so we were still training dynamically. But by the time I moved I had moved on to other hobbies. There was nothing new or exciting to buy, I built a 300BLK pistol in like 2020 out of boredom but that was the last time I built/bought anything.

Until last December when I bought a can and a new suppressor-ready G19X to go with it (trying to get in front of the Jan 1st rush). Good thing too because I’m still waiting on three Form 1s and two Form 4s (14-20 days waiting now). Finally finished building around a CMMG 5.7 conversion kit I bought 5 years ago and cerakoted it myself. Also picked up a Firstline Kuna for $1050, had to wait 2 months for that one.

Hope y’all are weathering the storms. IMG_3833.jpegIMG_3965.jpegIMG_3924.jpeg

Got some nice stuff there hoss and welcome to the world of NFA items. I have been hearing rumblings of sub par 14 day approvals but mostly for trusts its really making me think about adding some more SBRs and suppressors to the ones in the safe. Have all the parts to build a SBR 300BO and the can to go on it so I can mount my NV to that and take care of some night critters that roam my yard.

That’s some really scary stuff in those photos. I’ll bet they can fire at over 1000 rounds per second.

I haven’t been to a range in over a year. But I have all that I need.

I’m awaiting the stupid laws re “assault” rifles and magazines to be repealed. The courts are too damn slow.

The Gubmint of the PRK doesn't want anyone to own guns for any reason. Not 2A Friendly.
Sad. I've even heard of some folk going to Nevada (illegally) to buy ammo and normal magazines for their guns.
I'm active in the hobby. Recently, my tastes have run to long range shooting (500 yards+) and it's lots of fun. But expensive and a big learning curve.

haven't been to the range since the pandademic. Ranges in my area have shut down: bullseye, Chabot and Jackson. Suppose I should join the Richmond rod and gun and look into getting my Kali CCW. Feared to take any black guns out of the house cus de gubermint might frown on me.

A lot of members at CAguns.net are north bay, including the founder. (Note CA not CAL the old once popular gun site.)

Bought a house in Las Vegas in 2020 and immediately got a couple of safes installed and bolted in and started moving my EBRs out of CA. Towards the end of my stay there I just stopped giving a fuck about the CA laws honestly. I literally just got rid of the last of my bullet-buttons a couple of weeks ago.

Now that I’ve got some suppressors I’m realizing I can’t even install it on 1/4 of my stuff because of the pinned/welded muzzles.

It's time to take them to a gunsmith and have the barrels cut shorter and rethreaded. I hear Form 1s are getting approved quickly also. I am thinking about doing a few more lowers just because.

Moved to Texas in Sept. 2024. Bought a house, some firearms, and do illegal lane splitting.

I’ve got two pending that are now past 35 days. Looking at the /NFA subreddit looks like Form 1s are trending towards the high 40s.

Still not a bad time frame. submit the Form 1. Cut the barrels and then slap a brace or just a buffer tube on them if you want to shoot while waiting for the stamp and engraving. If you already have an SBR lower then you could cut the barrels down and just not mount them on a lower and you would be fine also as long as you don't but the SBR upper on a non-form 1 lower.

I would imagine it's as easy to get them there as it is here in the swamplands. are you visiting or staying because if they are not in stock locally then ammo is a online order away if you are staying.

I am not visiting at all, I just don't really like a suppressor on 9mm, because it needs special loads. Prefer for the good ol' .45 meatball, standard loads work. Not trying to yuck his yum, just curious if it comes with extra hassles.

Probably getting more liberal :laughing
Well how about that...

The 2A is for everyone!

Moto related too!

The classes, organized by members of the Cleveland chapter of Queers on Gears, an LGBTQ+ motorcycle group, have quietly grown over the past year. What began as a small effort among friends has expanded into a structured space where participants, many of whom had never held a gun before, say they feel safe enough to learn.

Honestly you can shoot supers through a suppressor it just doesn't give you that super quiet shot as you still get the boom. I did a group buy on some 9mm subs 147gr and it is giggle inducing to shoot through my pistol or my AR9. I won't lie it is also a blast to shoot a 1911 45ACP with a suppressor. First time I did it I could hear the thwack as the round hit the target it was pretty awesome but I mostly leave them on the 9mms as I shoot those more on average so if it came to shooting time I am more comfortable with my M&P9s.

In most states not California and maybe one or two other states you can order ammo online and have it delivered to your doorstep with no hassles. I have a 6.8mm SPC AR that I have to order for online as the local stores only carry the Hornady version of it and its not the best for hunting so I get some nice solid copper HPs online delivered to my door. It is nice to have options and it can be cheaper I got the 147gr HP 9mm above for like 45cents a round.
