Landscape Designer Recommendation for San Jose/Campbell Area

Was wondering if anybody here has a recommendation for a Landscape Designer near the San Jose/Campbell area. I need to completely redo my front yard (corner lot) and do some upgrading on the backyard. It would be nice if they could do 3d designs. TIA

El_Diablo_R1M does the design and install stuff and 3D. Jhonson is his name. I know he would do a free look see.

Are you just looking for a design, or you want them to buy all the plants and do all the work for you too? The in-person landscape architects tend to angle for the latter. If you just want a design, there are internet services for that.

if you have a Bradford pear, it can be used as rootstock to graft other pears that produce desirable fruit and that don't smell like... ya know...

it takes years to get the tree that big, no matter what you put there. chopping all the limbs off lets you keep the established, tall, part while fruit takes over... and if you suck at grafting well you wanted it dead anyway!

Yeah I know. I actually think a grafted Bradford pear root stock to any fruit producing variety is a great idea. I just hate Bradford pears enough to enjoy their eradication lol.
 
Consider maintenance when you decide. It will require to be maintained for decades. I used to work in Parks, and the suits would often design something that would require more maintenance than we had people to do. It all looks great when new, but if it requires more maintenance than what you want to spend or do, it will get shabby fast.

Well noted. I have a neighbor across the street that removed his lawn and planted drought resistant plants/flowers. Looked great for about a year. Now everything has matured and does not look that good anymore (just my opinion). Not horrible, just not that nice.

you can get drought tolerant, low maintenance plants. Where it goes to shit is that many people seem to think that means no water, no maintenance. Gonna look like shit in a year.
 
My own experience is that if you let whatever grows naturally grow, then never water it after mowing a few times, you get a nice beige Lawn Substitute till it starts raining in the fall.
