I can't imagine what criteria you'd use to determine the "best" for any given year, and some were mid, at best imo. It's super subjective. That said, Marty Friedman was the best out of all of them.

I want to slap my high school friends. Our 50th is coming up and I asked the guy who is organizing it and giving the DJ the playlist what kind of metal have you got on your list.. he said none.
