Name 3 motorcycles from 1 manufacturer you would like

For sure...Ducati Hypermotard 950SP, Monster 1200R, Panigale V4R.

But all the others are one-offs...Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, Yamaha R1M (rumored next gen), Honda CBR SP (next gen).

I hate sportbikes, but you just won.

:rofl

Hey Fish, good to see you last Saturday. I'm going to be in China next week, but lets talk about your frame project in a few weeks when I get back.

S 1000 RR
R 1200 RS (currently own)
R 1250 GS (factory lowered because I'm short)

I'm gonna do a Ducati list also

was having trouble with coming up with three models from one manufacturer that I wanted until I thought, "well what engines would I like to own?"

came up with these three, historically significant, KTM engines:

Tank-77.jpg

KTM 950 Super Enduro ... the LC8 was Dakar champ in '02 and is the engine Ewan and Charlie wanted to ride around the world with ... :toothless
The LC8 engine helped contribute to the end of multi-cylinder Dakar race bikes.

2007 LC4 660R ... the LC4 was Dakar champ in '01, and '03 - '06.
The LC4 engine helped contribute to the beginning of the 450cc single-cylinder era in Dakar.

2016 KTM RC 250 GP ... Moto3 champion in '12, '13 and '16 and currently leading the Moto3 championship points in 2019 ...
KTM has been competing head-to-head in Moto3 racing with the behemoth, Honda ...

KTM boss Erich Trunkenpolz and the 1970 Penton 125cc Six-Day ... the Penton ISDE bikes helped lay the foundation of "race ready" motorcycles that KTM is built upon ...

Got em.

500exc
690 Enduro
1290 SDr.

May swap 690 for 790 at some point soon.

As or more reliable than any honda/Suzuki I've owned in the past 35 years.

i like how barfers are dreaming and getting away from the OP's ask of current models. :rofl

If I had to have ONLY three bikes, they had to be current models, and from the same manufacturer... Yamaha it would be

Yamaha FJR1300
Yamaha T7 (ok not available in states yet... but europe)
Yamaha YZ250X

KTM might be able to do it.. but they dont really have a sport touring bike. But I could do one of the big KTM adventures, a 500EXC-f and a 300 XC-W. Three bikes are all kinds of compromises..... :x

But I cant imagine only three bikes hitting all the categories for me. I need a proper dirt bike, a dirt worthy dual sport, sport or naked sport bike, sport touring bike, trials bike, and some sort of adventure bike (preferably middle weight).

With that list, Honda would be the only one to be able to check off all the boxes, and there would be some compromise choices still.

What would you consider a Superduke GT? OK, I'm in late as usual. ..

I love Honda, but if money isnt an issue...

Multistrada 1200 Enduro Tour
Hypermotard 950 SP
959 Panigale Corse

Fun fact, I got approved on the 1200 Enduro Tour, but didn't want to finance two bikes at once
