NO SISSYFACES Berryessa Ride this SUNDAY 6/7/26

Last Tuesday at Cycle Gear they had a "bike of the night" contest between 3 bikes picked out of the crowd.
Then we had a chance to throw a couple of old helmets into a stack of tires from 20 feet. Winners got $50 I think.

After I left they had a slow speed race. Dave Moss is there from time to time tuning suspensions for $75 but he was absent last Tuesday.

Lots of people standing around talking or buying food at the taco truck + In and Out is in the same parking lot. A few other vendors are there for various stuff but there could be a lot more.

I live 3 miles away so I have no excuse. One guy I was talking to on a beautiful new BMW S1000RR M version comes from Berkeley all the way to Pleasanton to attend.
He was wearing a full leather Dainese race suit so I guess he's serious? I dunno.
don’t get me wrong - i love to hang out and BS and all shenanigans.. but i think this type of culture dominates current scene, as opposed to go and ride for 4-5 hours (with lunch, is when you get a chance to further socialize), with brief stops to BS for 10mins and / or get gas and carry on with the actual riding, instead of “riding and bikes admiration” sort of speaking.. but i guess to each their own, all is good for as long as there are people who like to ride, regardless of riding styles :)

I get you.
Maybe the problem these days is riders live too far apart from each other to make it feasible to meet for a ride.

And not everyone has 4-5 hours free time to spend doing something on a weekend.

I don't ride on weekends anymore.

I read the ride post and it was clear this one was not for me (and I was on the other side of the US, :laughing)... however, there are plenty of young people that ride -> they are just not here, unfortunately.

There are a number of moto Facebook groups out there where you'll find younger riders. Meta has taken it's toll on community forums like this one as anyone now can spin up a group, but it takes a craft to really run a community well (we thank Bud and team).
