Photos of your bike on location

@Cornfish

Talk about dropping a bunch of awesomeness. :thumbup

This one has some great composition and honestly your packing looks super refined to me. Like Baby is a body builder and her ass is pretty sweet.

Thanks, Budman! Photography is a hobby of mine, and I know a handful of spots in Central Oregon that are classics for photos. When I was ripping along down the Cascade Lakes Highway, I knew I would stop here to recreate this photo I had taken before, but this time with the bike. The luggage exceeded my expectations on my trip, so all the planning worked out great.

All spiffied up and ready to go! Since I was only about 7 miles from Morgan Territory Road I decided to
do an up to the top and back for the initial celebratory ride. Mines will have to wait.
While Der Dreadnought (K16000 GT) is an excellent freeway flyer the XR is SOOOO FUN and in a completely different league of it's own.
Hoping the hard bags come in soon. Don't like wearing a backpack so just strapped it down on the tail.

And it's been a kazillion years since I was a member of the "Chain Gang"!!! Questions for ya. What chain lube do you recommend AND what cleaner do you use to
get that sticky shit off the rear wheel?

I like the Motorex Racing Chain Lube, which is more of the white, kind of waxy type. If you lube the chain the night before a ride so it has plenty of time to dry, it runs pretty darn clean. I use Motorex Chain Clean for cleaning the chain and rear wheel, but I think any brand of chain clean is fine. I'm sure there are all sorts of great lube options, but I typically lean towards the "clean" versions.

Cornfish, Ich... Thanks for the suggestions. I'll spot test a couple of areas with kerosene and wd-40.
Don't want "etch" or "dull" them perdy black wheels! :)

I use the Motorex chain clean on my orange KTM wheels and have never had a problem with it damaging the finish.

Kerosene for chains, got some spray degreaser for clean up but usually dish soap and warm water followed by some spray polish takes everything off.

Oh and I just use a heavy gear oil to lubricate the chain, cheap, effective and yes you do get some fling off but not much if you are diligent in application and wiping off the excess. Last chain got around 17,000 miles or so and I mostly just lubed it with an occasional kerosene clean after long dirty road trips.

My GS 750
The photo is in 1980.
Engine is punched out to 850cc Flat Track Bars - Migura 1/4 throttle. Smaller front rim. And wider rear wheel I think it’s called a WM6 and a WM4 stainless steel spokes Yoshimura pipe.
I modified the taillight myself. License plate has vertical road rash from being looped. That was a talking point when people check this bike out.
The locations my friends front yard so I hope it’s not too old to post as your bike on location.
PS got any vintage bike builds ready to share.

About 150 miles morning ride to Pt. Reyes station for some savory scones+coffee @ Bovine Cafe, and then on to Lucas valley road.
The ride up Pt. Reyes through early morning mist around Mt. Tamalpais state park was simply magical (added bonus - not _that_ crowded with bicycles)
Had to summon Gemeni's genie powers to remove peoples etc.
