Much less sureYou sure about the rider?

It is on the BDR but that's not what I'm doing. I should've camped here last night but I was running out of daylight and not knowing the condition of the road up to the lookout, I ended up at a campground along Hwy 139.
had to look that one up:
Manzanita Mountain (Manzanita Ridge) Lookout
tl/dr: “This tower, Plan Number 889-lA , is based upon the Fredonyer Lookout design. There are only five Fredonyer style towers in the State.”
so awesome … is it on the NorCal BDR route, or am I confused? in any event, another Mr @stratslingr77 tire-track for me to follow, asap, maybe.![]()

Lakeview, OR->Winnemucca->Wells->Ely->Austin->Fernley->Gerlach->Cedarville->Lakeview.Nice, what's your route for the SS1K?
We scored on weather. Temps ranged from 46⁰ - 93⁰ F. Mostly high 80s.Sweet, hope it wasn't too hot during the day. Riding long hours at night in the desert on two lane roads is whole nother experience!![]()

We actually started at Summer Lakes Hot Springs but the gas station in Paisley was closed with no ability to get a gas receipt when we started at zero-dark-thirty. And if there isn't a receipt, it didn't happen. So we rode 50 miles to our start in Lakeview to get that starting receipt. Same deal on the return. Total ride ended up being 1170 miles.

I need to get my documentation organized, but I'll post up when that comes through.very cool … I got my IBA# in 1998 ona ride to New Jersey before they were giving out IBA#s. had to get my retroactive IBA# (#4200, nice even number, ha) when I wanted some IBA swag, years later.![]()
looking forward to hearing what your IBA numbers are.![]()
I'm curious about the Clearwater lights on the middle bike. Have you observed them in use after dark? How were they?Hwy 50 outside of Austin, NV and about 650 miles into a Saddle Sore 1000 with my closest friend and his son.

Pretty sure nothing is gonna fall off.
They're Denalis...and the last leg of our ride was from Fernley through Gerlach and Cedarville back up to Lakeview after dark. So mostly middle of nowhere desert. Imagine finding a way to bolt the sun to the front of your bike--that's about how bright those lights got. Which is great for us following behind him. Not so great if you're oncoming traffic. EVERYONE we did come across flashed their brights at us.I'm curious about the Clearwater lights on the middle bike. Have you observed them in use after dark? How were they?
