post a *PIC* of your latest purchase (can be anything as long as you purchased it)

Pink and rainbows and sailor moon and all the Coexist style liberal bumper stickers available on University Avenue...

And an 8 inch straight piped exhaust cummins smokestack belching pure Murikan Coal dust in yer face fer the lulz

Had my Schwinn Super Sport converted to a flat bar setup with new handlebar, brake levers, 3 piece crankset, new rear hub and wheel and modern derailleur

Bought the bike in 1969 with money from mowing lawns and baby sitting.

I think it came out pretty nicely albeit a new bike would have been cheaper, lighter and faster.
.
Narrow bars will take some getting used to.

Rides solid as a rock as it should at 31.4lbs!

But that is almost 2lbs lighter than it was before.

Feels pretty slow; haven't put the speedometer back on yet so we will see.

7 speed with Shimano derailleur shifts very smoothly compared to the old Sturmey Archer.

My dad had one of those in matte black. It was a logging rig to get up to jobs.

I have such a soft spot for them. I’m sure you’ll turn Methany into a beauty. 🥹
Is the future goal to keep that "none of the panels are the same color" theme going, perhaps in even more vibrant shades than gray?
Funny, matte black is in her future I think, if I can shake the idea of having the body panels all powdercoated galaxy purple.

What I'm aiming for- more matte black, and no power wagon motif, but grabber orange hockey stick. And if I can find one of those Ram hood ornaments...

You know I was just thinking when I repaint the challenger I think it would be sick in matte dark gray. But I have the same affliction and think plum crazy is also a valid choice.

I think that we live in a world where being your unabashed full self is not just allowed but celebrated, and that if you want a purple car, you should have a purple car.

*wrestles with the memories of KITT, B.A. Baracus' van, and Airwolf all being black and not a beautiful, deep purple*

oh I wonder if they make a matte version of plum crazy although that would mean I would have to be super anal about the bodywork and the last time I did paint perp it wasn't as great as it could have been and that was just with black paint. would also need to do a frame off paint job hmm decisions decisions.

The world is filled with white/gray/black. Seeing color is not necessarily a bad thing. Unless its on a Cybertruck, but that's because its a Cybertruck, the color has nothing to do with it.

I guess this counts as a purchase? Redwoods, poppies, and a joshua tree... yesterday's 2.5h of fun:

It does and I have poppies on two of my tats. I heartily approve of this beautiful work.

This reminds me, I need to get another lower leg sleeve. I can't shave my left leg to show off that tattoo because then I'd have to shave the other, non-tattooed leg, and that's just not going to work for me :laughing

FWIW Dan, matte is pretty hard to keep in good condition through it's life...especially WRT paint correction needs. If it's never meant to be "perfect" in your needs, it'll look sick for sure.

I had a friend that did that to a Dodge dart in the 80s.
White latex rolled on house paint.

But he used a light yellow latex for the vinyl top

I think he packed aluminum foil and Bondo in the rust holes first

:facepalm
