How tall is your garage? I'm tempted to sell the QJ's and get a lift, but I've only got 10 feet of height...

I haven't used them outside the concrete garage floor. So long as they're on flat ground, I'd feel comfortable with them. The safety lockouts are good...still I hate crawling under cars...
 
Thanks! I think no matter what I would still double up safety with some jack stands too, redundancy and all.

My driveway is not sloped, but it's not smooth. There are some small 'dips' I avoid when parking to place the jack/ stands, and I wonder if that unevenness might be a problem since these seem to span a few feet.

Sorry to threadjack. As an act of contrition, I bought this intake hose to get an old car to pass smog.

Pretty sure GM’s 8L90 has the 1:1 in 6th. Yes that means I have the slushbox.

Couldn’t tell you what gear the operator did it in. It was probably 4th or 5th.

Getting a bonus at work this year that will put my getting a 2-post lift account over the top, so am now in the process of looking at which one to buy and seeing if its worth the price to have someone install it for me.
 
Keep in mind that you need a minimum of 4 inches of good concrete to bolt to.
Unless you buy one of the portable 4 post lifts.
Slappy, your garage looks VERY organized, but that beam and celling height will be a problem.

Also, I believe all modern concrete slabs are post tension or something like that. So no drilling into them.
 
On grade is hit/ miss. Some are still use rebar that are on-grade. Anything with air gap below it is likely gonna be post tension.
 
I've installed rotary lifts in multiple locations. Just get a hammer drill and start drilling... the weight of the car is gonna hold it down anyway! :thumbup :laughing
 
I had them pour a 6 inch section of slab under the workshop overhang specifically for this thing. got a 16ft roof height so easy peasy. Which reminds me I have to run some outdoor combo 220v/120v outlets under the overhang good thing I got practice with it in the shop.

That beam is 99 inches from the floor. So MAYBE a lift would be usable. The Miata would have to up top and a very short (height wise) underneath. So....two Miata's?!?! LOL
