Yup... Bicentennial Grad. 250th ~ 50th.

Tomorrow night meet ang greet and the big gathering Saturday Night with a picnic on Sunday. One very successful classmate has been paying for these for the last 20 years. It is kind of cool that he does it.

Hope that goes well.

I talked with a Trainer at my gym and will start to use him soon.
The focus is just stretching and core strength. Those are the two things that somehow escape my mental fortitude. I have been consistent with the stretching but having someone physically push it is going to help for sure.

good morning. WFH this morning. Then off to conduct groups with the foster care youth.
I do love my job but I feel the burnout starting already.
I couldn't do your job. I know it would leave me totally drained.

Woke up a 4am and resisted, coffee and off to work, then home to finish packing before I attempt a little sleep prior to my 2am wakeup call to head to the airport. Friday will be a long day, but it'll be worth it to get up to Grand Lake.

yes as it does to most people.
Thank goodness I was clinically trained by the best supervisor ever and I have learned and practiced boundaries, boundaries, desensitization, boundaries, boundaries...
Boundaries is one of my favorite words.

Played hooky for a bit and went to Oakland Zoo, heading into the office now for a meeting.

Fun stuff. Kids, yeah?

I just did that last weekend and two times last year.

Yep :thumbup We try and go a couple of times a year but it has been almost a year and a half since the last time so it was nice to be back. It's a good zoo; we have also gone to Sacramento, San Diego, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City. I think San Diego is my favorite.

Melissa, as a wildlife biologist I agree. However, zoos serve a purpose, which is to educate and build interest in wildlife and the habitats they need to survive. They also do a lot of research, which helps understand and promote wildlife causes throughout the world. So while it's depressing to see wild animals in caged environments, think of the wonder of that small child who sees his first lion, bear, or snake. Think of the impact on that kid's brain and how they will think differently about it place in this world. I haven't been to a zoo in years, but I do see the benefit.

Yes I understand that zoos can be helpful for the animal.
but imagine if someone took you out of your natural habitat and put you in some other land. I wouldn't like it at all.
