So basically you were right .
I'm always right. :x

I've had this conversation a thousand times (which is why I enjoy teasing you so much).
We can check your records, compile all the evidence and explore different theories... or we can just pull the fuckin' wheels off and see what the car needs! :laughing

My #1 rule, tho... if you're "not sure" if there's problem, there's probably not (yet).

, I enjoy it. :x
looks fun 😁

so it's not the pads. The pads are huge, like 5-6mm... it's the discs. They've gotten thinned out and scored by the pads... to the extent you can actually see the lip, and its shadow, on a smartphone camera.

is the scoring that bad?!? must be some bad quality discs and pads.

That looks fine to me.

And the jack in your trunk should be sufficient to pull a wheel and have a look at pad thickness. You only need stands if you plan on putting body parts under the vehicle or yanking on stuff.

I just bought an Insta-Pot 6 qt air fryer. Not interested in chicken wings, which everyone seems to make in them. Does anyone have some good veggie recipes or websites / user channels to steer me in the right direction? I checked a recipe for roasted root veggies, which I love making in a rectangular baking dish or 2. I will try this, but the 6 quart base dimensions are tiny. A family of munchkins might get by, but this contraption would only make enough for two. That is, if I am not that hungry. I am kicking myself for tossing the box and packaging; if I decide to return it I will not be able to. I used it last night to cook the cornstarch dredged tofu for a vegan butter chicken recipe (not butter, not chicken, obviously, and no, I am not vegan). The tofu was crap. It had a weird crust. The sauce was decent; I fed that to my wife and son, then used the air fryer to re-heat my home-made pizza for me. It did the job in that..... :)

I'm telling you, the pads are visibly plenty thick (which may mean something else is going on),

maybe I will take off a wheel--to wash the brake calipers, so they can look as shiny as this... huh.

Never done that, I wonder if soap will be enough

I kinda think my air fryer post is ill-placed....... However, I do have lip on the front brakes of my Golf R at nigh on 17k miles. I know I will shed a tear at the bill to replace them. Thread redemption is hoped for...... :)
