You gotta separate the dog from your brother. It's not the dog's fault, in fact, it's the opposite. Think of how shitty that dog's life was and how you can maybe help it get better.

Those pictures are from when I was just a 'part timer'. Couple years ago. Nothing recent because I would not let her get that close to me or care enough to take a picture.

As far as re-homing her, I don't think that's something I want to approach. I know my brother and the thought of the time he gets out of jail and his dog is in another home? It would not go well. He would treat me the same way would treat a random person that wronged him for whatever reason and fight them with bad intentions. My experience with any altercations and over decades of martial arts? I just didn't want anyone to try to hurt me or hurt them. Very different. One of the reasons I got into martial arts is because I was not worried about bullies at school, the bully at home was more dangerous.

But we're talking about the dog. Sometimes I have half a mind to just leave the door open and if she runs away, so be it. I'm not going to do that and it's a terrible thought but I am not a perfect person. None of us are but I can't deny the thought crossed my mind.

But because I don't have more information, I'm just going to make something up.

Nate invited a girl over to his place. They had one too many beers while watching Family Guy. Or King of the Hill? or Office Space? They fell asleep on the couch to re-runs of Cheers.

She [who has no name] cooked bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast.

Nate and she [who has no name] exchanged phone numbers and she did not ask for his Facebook or Instagram or Twitter contact because Nate does not have those or care even if he did.

Nate did all this as a trooper struggling through a hangover on the way to Denver to meet a business partner for a social media app that is going to fail. But Nate still had a good story to tell. And then he drank a couple beers at the airport bar before going home.
 
Your version is much more interesting. In my version I just took full advantage of an open bar at the ball last night to consume an healthy amount of bourbon. Then I came home.and had a cigar and more bourbon before ultimately doing all the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen before passing out.

We should think of whether we can get one more car at home if you want help with the oil change
 
Another option is that you could find a new home for the dog but tell your brother that he ran away.

Or, simply tell him this is the last time you take care of it.
