Anytime a boss ever said anything remotely negative to me, I'd always say "Okay, well I better leave then."

So, actually, as I briefly posted the other day, my mom actually fell, too… and it may have been on the same day.. or the day before while i was nerding out. Bad fall, (..and at age.. :wow) so I have to go to help her get through the day. It’s a heavy and expensive, trip (n)

She fell on Monday. We had just gotten back from hiking with the dog.
And she was forcing me to commit crimes again (she said "I want that sign") ;)
Seems so long ago, now.

Ok, as the resident wildlife biologist I have to say that stealing that sign is fucked up. I know it seems like a joke, but it isn't. We are working into tarantula season and this sign is there to make people aware.

Just saying, while it seems like a cool thing to have, it would be cooler of the actual tarantulas had it.

I agree. Fwiw, I put some thought into it and made sure to take it from an area that had multiple signs, and what I deemed to be redundant signage.
I also sent that pic to my nephew, who's an EBMUD ranger and reported my crime.
But I accept your criticism. Stealing is always wrong and it's high time I start acting like an adult... seriously. :thumbup
I blame her... and look what happened. :x

still remember when we went on a hike around Diablo years ago ... the SO jumped real high when I pointed out the spider at the edge of the trail/dirt road

Years ago I hooked up a hot tub at the last house up the north gate entrance to Mt. Diablo (about 5 miles past the gate.)
When I was done at about 6:00pm the tarantulas were migrating accross the road... there were thousands of them!
I drove as slow as I could, but there was no way to avoid them all... I felt terrible. 🙁

TBH, I was NOT aware of tarantulas at all, while starting a hike on the back of E.B. hills.

I don't recall seeing a single sign at the time.. .b/c , that sign, definitely looks like a Haloween joke

about 10 years ago I think one of the pop-news channels KPIX or KRON, did a news item on this "the yearly East Bay or The Nut* tarantula migration". So basically it's popularized through the years

(* WC is now known as "The Nut" :rofl)
 
I saw my first ever wild tarantula crossing the road last year on a moto trip, pretty neat, but I'm kinda surprised I saw it as speed.

I did the same thing years ago on Calaveras Road. Stopped and picked up the tarantula, put it in my saddlebag and brought him home. Kept him for a week, to show the kids, fed him crickets, then drove him back out to the corner where I found him.

He probably found love and became dinner soon after.
