another senior center volunteer day today. my best friend who heads it up made creamy tomato soup. two varieties - one with red tomatoes, one with yellow. all out of her spectacular garden. beyond amazing. my assignment? grilled cheese sandwiches to go with the soup. cheddar, gruyere and parmesan on french bread. felt like a short order cook. the line was long - spent two and half hours grilling. our reward? huge smiles, warm hugs and rave reviews on it all from the old folks. it seriously doesn’t get any better than that.
