Truth. I live in a giant cat toy box. There are currently 2 large shredded cardboard boxes on my floor. One filled with packing paper in between the dining and living room, one filled with shredded pieces of said box in my living room, and I can't get rid of either of them because the cats play in them constantly. Everything is covered in blankets and fleecy pillow cases, there is a laundry basket on my dining room table that Apollo sleeps in during the day, another laundry basket on the floor in the dining room that Sundae sleeps in, the floor is littered with paper bag handles because those are Sundae's favorite toys, her second favorite toys being the bags they came off of. There's a small Ace bucket on the floor of the bathroom because the cats prefer to drink out of it instead of their fancy cat-approved proportionally correct expensive stainless steel bowls. There's a silicone placemat in my entryway because my cranky old lady Mae is intimidated by the other cats and when it's time to eat she runs to the front door, turns around so her back is to the 3 walls of the entryway so that nobody can sneak up on her, and she eats her food there. We can't get rid of the sacrificial shredded and stained Ikea Ektorp chair in the living room because it is the de facto scratching post and they play on/in/under it every day. I like to think it keeps them from scratching up the other furniture. At least that's what I tell myself to make its presence in my living room semi-tolerable.

These cats definitely rule the roost around here, but they also rule our hearts and souls. My life would be very boring and empty without them! I guess my life is well-balanced! :laughing

Sounds like my house.

When you lament that your vendors change their packing materials because the cat doesn't like the new ones, you know you're in trouble.

We have poofs scattered hither and yon throughout the house. I have towels and pads on my desk for Georgie (when he deigns to use them instead of something more comfortable, such as my keyboard.

We have a piece of heavy, brown wrapping paper precariously shaped in the corner of the sectional couch in the living room, forming an ad hoc house for their use. 7 cat trees. Toys on my bed.

My wife purchased a new throw that she wanted for the couch.

Cat won't use it. Its been delegated to a nearby chair (the other cat will use it there...), and back to the old one on the couch.
