Thanks! I was suprised to see some cattle dog/collie mixes here as well. Monty can be a spazz sometimes......but he is like a little Einstein. He picks up on things quick. Smart dogs, but need things to do and lots of excersize. His favorite times are when he can run around like a maniac.....as displayed in the pic at the beach. I love cattle dogs

My friends have a cattle dog (mixed with some kind of beefy pit-like dog). He's crazy smart and lives to please. Once he's done doing whatever he has decided is his "job," he will chase anything thrown or kicked until he's exhausted. He's like 50 lbs of lean meat, too.

In strict contrast to my beagles, who want to eat and smell around and eat again, and who don't really give a damn if I'm talking to them or not.

My dog is the most mellow cattle dog I've ever seen. She just wants to sit or lay by my side all day long. She doesn't like to play with toys. If I throw a ball or frisbee she just looks at it with this why did you do that look on her face.

That's funny, because my friend had two cattle dogs and they were mellow as well. When everyone was saying "Cattle dogs are a lot of work", I would just remember my friends dogs as chill. Monty isn't bad.....but he'll let you know when he's bored (must be the collie side).

That's funny, because my friend had two cattle dogs and they were mellow as well. When everyone was saying "Cattle dogs are a lot of work", I would just remember my friends dogs as chill. Monty isn't bad.....but he'll let you know when he's bored (must be the collie side).

Everyone was telling me not to get a cattle dog because of how hyper they are. My girl has tons of energy when we go out hiking or running but other then that shes perfectly happy just being by my side.

There was a guy at barf bash like a year or two ago that had his dog with him on his bike.
