Sans helmet because they just make me too hot

Same, at least the age part.
I took mine in 1976.
Nobody ever needed to tell me to wear a helmet. Besides the practicality and safety aspects, I've always been a fan of the esthetics.

Are you saying you have the perfect face for a full face helmet Jeff? :laughing

There were periods of time that a moto was my only form of transportation and I didn't even own a helmet. I finally bought a used Simpson full-face from a friend.
(we was po' folk :toothless)

:rofl
Yes Geoff,
I suppose that's exactly what I'm saying.
I need to quote my friend Jon's wife here:
"Riders are pretty hot.....well, they start out that way, anyway. As soon as the helmet comes off, things tend to fall apart rather quickly."
Thanks for putting my low self-esteem back to exactly where it belongs. :laughing

In the Spring of 1968, I'd had my R50/2 for about 6 mos. I had purchased it from an eccentric dude who made me promise to
1. "Wear this crash helmet every time you get on it.
2. Do NOT ever let your parents find out I sold this to you.
3. Wear heavy gloves, boots and a leather jacket, ALL the time.
4. If I find out you broke any of these rules, I will kill you.

That Summer, one of my riding buddies was riding his Honda 250 scrambler, and smashed his face into a curb. It fucked him up, big time. I have never ridden without a helmet since!, and never broke those 4 rules, either.

If I had not been wearing this particular helmet when I hit the pavement and my head was run over by a pickup truck...well this reply would not exist!
