I DO tend to take it to another level, I had to work at it, finding the right spot.
Getting my feet in focus, and my balance set, as best I could.
Pesky breeze pushing against me, my toes are suspended over the edge,
So, somewhere along Hermit's Rest, I have a pix of me, Hanging Ten, over the Grand Canyon.

I have seen some really nice flutes, and Bolo's .
Every once in a while there will be a gathering of the great artists, to show the work from long winter hours. I've only been to two, has been many years now, we are due, , ,
The Tower @ the east end, my last spot I watched the light change, to sunset, , ,

I've been through AZ on a motorcycle twice now and have yet to make it to the Grand Canyon on a bike. It's on the list though.

When we were heading to Colorado, through Zion, we decided to take a stab and make a run for the North Rim.

We didn't make it. Boy, was it far away. Far farther than we anticipated. We turned back.

I rode by it on my last trip to Colorado, road was closed due to the level of snow they had that year despite it being may.

I've ridden the north side when there was plenty of snow all around. The best parts of that are the Vermilion Cliffs and the Navajo Bridge.

Worst part is Colorado City. But it's getting better.

I stayed at a small place near Navajo bridge on my trip, well worth the stop.

Big adventure, of the tourist trade, will be slowing down for the Monsoon season, not for the rain, but the extra heat.
Low 100's this weekend, Mothers Day, prominent, rich with events and distractions.

The ride to and from is the point. Sedona is just the decided upon destination. Looks like we're gonna jump on and off Rt 66 once we get into Az. Havent decided on a complete route yet, but Oatman, Az looks like it'll make the cut.

Yes, That looks like a promising ride. I'm thinking of jumping off of 40 at Topock, north to Oatman, then continuing onto Kingman and back on 40. Or we'll do that in reverse on the return.

Flagstaff has new Route 66 paint on the pavement, @ the Visitor's Center,
100 Anny. I know Kingman has it already, rolling out the "Welcome to 66" mat.
Event dates of specific gatherings, no rumbling, rumors yet,

Az Bike Week has come & gone.
First weekend had a drunk pickup roll thru pedestrians, totaled a bike or two, & hospital down time.
Mellowed out for the Scottsdale, Cave Creek, party central.
Fewer charity rides, always iffy for weather in Az. Plan a loop up into Prescott, and get rain/snow.
Less attractions/rides this year, no short track racing, but short track training?
Band lineup was ok.

Something new here, for Flagstaff, wind speeds forecasted above 50, normal for clearing winds.
Today is a red flag wind event, and APS (our PG&E) is going to cut power to prevent a wildfire.
Hasn't been done here, Last minute decision yesterday, a lot of WTF from residents, no warning.

Wind came up, power down @ 9am, until late afternoon, wind velocity dropped, power came back, no issues.
All in specific neighborhoods, dry, no ground water, breeziest parts of Flag.
Locals are buying gennies, a new norm ?
