========SOLD=========
Up for sale is my 2004 SVT Focus. This is the most well-equipped model ever sold, which includes the EAP package and sunroof.
Let's play pros and cons:
PROS:
- New rotors and pads + brake fluid flush.
- Brake calipers cleaned, rebuilt, and painted.
- Replaced multiple coolant lines + coolant flush.
- Seafoam treatment to oil, fuel, and intake. (fuel filter + oil change was done after this treatment)
- New 7" touchscreen stereo headunit (bluetooth, android auto, apple carplay, steering wheel controls still work, OEM subwoofer works as well.)
- Various bits of teh suspension have been replaced (anything rubber that looked old and crusty was replaced)
- Headlights were restored to like-new condition.
- Tires are relatively new, although one has a bubble on the side. Still totally drivable, but not pretty haha.
- New battery and alternator (alternators are known weak points on this car, so I replaced it as preventative maintenance.
- New clutch + flywheel + throw out bearing (OEM replacements)
- 25mpg around town, 30mpg on road trips.
- Passes smog.
CONS:
- This is a 20 year old car with 160k miles on it. It's in great shape, but it's not showroom perfect.
- Unibody is rust free, but some components have surface rust (subframe and engine bay brackets).
- Driver side heated seat does not work.
- Timing belt will need to be done in the next year or two - I have all the parts, just don't have time to get it done. A local shop quoted me $400, but it's not due for another 20k miles.
--------------------------------
The story:
I had a SVT Focus during my college years and loved the car. I eventually sold it to get something faster, but I've always been nostalgic for it. Earlier this year, I bought this as a hobby/project car, and have spent a lot of time and money in the past 6 months on fixing it up.
The car runs great - starts up every time, idles steady, and rips through the gears.
The car was originally yellow, but it had some body damage that I repaired, so i took the extra steps to paint the jams and engine bay, then had the car wrapped pearl white. (the wrap cost me $2400, and I have a role of spare vinyl to include with the car for any repairs that may be needed in the future).
Unfortunately my trusty old van finally died, so I'm selling this car to fund a new van.
Feel free to ask any questions - I have a LOT of pictures, including many featuring the maintenance work that has been done.
I am not in a hurry to sell, and am pretty firm on price - these cars are getting rarer by the minute, and this is arguably one of the nicest ones on the west coast. These cars are good for 300k+, so this would make for a great commuter car, or maybe a first car for an enthusiast who wants something sporty and fun to drive.
