Those ADV nerds have one, figured there needs to be one here. Why yes this is entirely self serving so I can post about short rides when I don't have enough for a ride report... Same idea as the ADV thread, post anything sporty / touringy and or BSy that you want.

I'll start, I did a "short" ride yesterday since the days are long and I needed a good hoon. Didn't leave the city until almost 1pm though.

Started nice but I knew it was gonna be foggy by the coast. Marshall Petaluma Rd was fun as always.

Really wanted some coffee, so Cafe Aquatica was my only stop.

Foggy, but pleasant all the same. Met a rider from Oakland who was headed home from playing a music festival in Medocino.

We talked and enjoyed our meals before deciding we both were on a schedule of sorts.

Skaggs was the main event and it didn't disappoint. I don't think I've ridden it since they repaved the last bit to the coast. It's different, but still fun.

Despite a little bit of cramping due to poor life choices the night before, I got my monies worth out of Skaggs

I considered hopping on 101 to get home, but, gross. So instead it was Westside road to Guernville to the Bohemian highway so I could enjoy Coleman valley road.

Seemed a bit late in the day for these teenage hooligans to be out playing in traffic. Damn kids.

Solid ride, a but chilly near the end, but it was nice having the roads more or less to myself.

Damn those JBD's (Juvenile Bovine Delinquents). I hope you didn't have to ask them to "Moooove" over too many times before they let ya pass.

That refreshingly cool fogg, lookin' good.
Send me some,
Hey CDONA (or anyone else), if I can sidetrack this thread for a minute since you live in AZ...my niece is applying for a teaching job in Ruidoso NM (yes, I know it isn't AZ) and I thought I'd ask if you know anything about that place.
They are checking her references now so it looks like they may take her PDQ.
Ruidoso is described as a village in the Santa Blanca mountain range near Lincoln National Forest.

Lots of information on their website: https://www.ruidososchools.org/SchoolDistrictReportCard1.aspx

Looks like a lot of native pride going on there, cool programs! Since it's a tony resort town 365, the children of workers/staff will be the pupils. Less than 10% of the Ruidoso HS kids are proficient in math, oof. Kind of a national trend though. Roughly 40% of teacher in the MS are inexperienced. I'm guessing this is your niece's first job.
