It is a multi day (Thursday - Sunday... or longer if you want to make it so) group campout at a dirt Group Camping area occupied by only barf'ers. BYO food and camping gear. Ride in or drive in.
It has it's own vault toilets, running water, and multiple picnic benches as well as fire pits. Plus the (BIG) group fire pit. There's some streams nearby so if it's too hot a dip is possible.
Riding is whatever you want. Easy double track or single track to very difficult single track. Talk around and pick a riding partner/group and have some fun.

Think of it as a Dirt / Dual Sport bike group ride / camp out. People will show up just to chill for 1 day on a streetbike / dual sport or bring an RV / Van / Truck + Tent Camp and a dirtbike or dualsport or both (or a trials bike or electric) and ride for 5 days! There is plenty of space for everyone and stories to tell over a campfire when it gets dark. Lots of people to ride with and all the skill levels are represented, a ton of trail knowledge and mechanical know how is present too. People have helped each other with fixing a flat or cooking dinner and everything in between.

You may not know anyone the first time but don't be shy come by and introduce yourself and make some friends. You will at least find some new like-minded folks to be friends with. Some come from as far away as Oregon or Reno (or sometimes even further).

P.S. If you want a less loud camping experience bring earplugs or camp further away from the BIG firepit...

My first one was on a KTM 640 or 400 (I forget now), I rode up from the bay in the middle of the night and put up a hammock between the trees. [I may have even changed tires from the dual sport ones to dirt when I got there!] My last one I showed up for 1 day brought a keg and cooked some ribs / chilled in the river and didnt even get my dirtbike out of the van. :ROFLMAO: So you never know how its gonna go.

It might be 100 or it might be pouring rain and snowing…

I met Tom “AnyTwoWillDo” at a Stonybarf back in 2014. In 2015 we were riding Baja and making life long friends. In 2018, Daniel “1962Scala” who I first met at Stonybarf and later Baja, sold us our dream property. He navigated us through one ridiculously messy transaction. Then there’s CJ, Rebekah, Wiles who saved my ass when the RV exploded into flames.
So to answer your question, YES absolutely yes! Load up yourself and show up. Stonybarf has brought so much to my life I’m sure it will to yours.

It seems I have to go to France for a moto ride…

Edit… my pal Eric is competing in this Auvergne event and I got invited. I declined to compete decided to ride his coattails. I get a Tenere T7 to hang by the sidelines and explore France. Eric is riding some factory Yamaha bitchen thing. Big fun.

Subject: Stoney Bar Rally – I’m All In

Hey Butch,

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say I’ve sent the PayPal and I’m officially in for Stoney Bar. Appreciate you putting this together—looking forward to the ride, the crew, and whatever madness unfolds.

Let me know if there’s anything else you need from me.

All in,
Paul R

As long as it stops raining for a few days we'll be good. 3" of rain is a lot. Maybe we'll have some nice mud puddles on the way up to Potato Hill...

I still chuckle when remembering this......... :rofl Looking forward to another great Stonybarf. (y) :banana

Thanks everyone for the peepee… If someone could volunteer to collect cash from those who go that way it would be cool.
