8/15/25 - FYI ... The following is from Americans for Responsible Recreational Access (ARRA)

ARRA and fellow advocacy corps members, along with the CA OHV Commission, have collaborated with the Coyote Creek Solar Project managers and the CA State Parks OHMVR Division to organize a public hearing for the proposed solar project, which is located along the southern property line of the SVRA.
The meeting will be held on August 28 at 6:00 p.m. It is critically important for you, your family, and the riding network to attend in person to voice your concerns about having an energy facility constructed in the viewshed of the park and discuss potential short and long-term impacts on both casual OHV use and the many competition events that are held there, including the Hangtown MX Classic and Ultra 4 Racing.

Click here to review concerns about the project expressed by OHV and conservation groups to learn more about the potential short and long-term impacts on both casual riding and competition events, such as the Hangtown MC Classic and Ultra 4 Racing.
Please share this with your friends, and we hope to see you there. Stay tuned for further updates and info on this meeting, including the virtual option.

Cliff notes?

As the area becomes more developed (which it is doing), it’s only a matter of time before people start complaining about the noise, dust, traffic, etc. My guess - Folsom residents will do their best to restrict days and times, have the location moved or attempt to have it shut down.

I didn't read every last word of the review of concerns, but it seems that the biggest issue is that it would spoil the view. The view is important at a place like Carnegie, but I don't remember ever admiring the view at Prairie City. It's too flat there for the view to be relevant.

My bigger concern would be the same as Natewa, Folsom will eventually expand in that direction and people will buy houses ignoring what is already in the area, then they will complain about the noise and dust.

Personally, I think it is a good idea to put a bunch of solar panels out in that general area.

Nate, Scott...
I''m inclined to think the same. Been a few years since I was out there and that property they're talking about is pretty much still old Oak grassland, approximately
1400 acres to be cleared. The camel's nose under the tent kinda thing. First thing would be this new solar farm complaining about the "dust". Just like people moving in next to an airport and then start complaining about the noise and planes flying over. Big money developers coming in and putting pressure on the State to sell the land, etc.

don’t start blaming motorcycles for the dust on the solar panels and try to shut down the motorcycle off-roadpark

A small victory…
BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC), California Four Wheel Drive Association (Cal4Wheel), and American Sand Association (ASA) have reached a settlement over the Coyote Creek Agrivoltaic Ranch, a solar and battery storage project next to Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) in Sacramento County. Announced October 27, 2026, the settlement requires the developer to move a transmission line off the park, keep new facilities at least 300 feet from the park boundary, and follow enforceable limits on construction traffic, glare, and dust.

Good news….
This is a great place and needs respect….
