Tire plug/patch would ya?

I've had to toss out a new tire because of a puncture.

Sucks, but it is better than taking a risk.

Just "pretend" the government paid for it with your stimulus check(s) assuming you qualified.

Got me a glass cut flat, used three rope plugs just to achieve a slow leak.
It got me the 8 miles back to Kingman HD for a new tire.

Glass cuts may severely weaken the tire structure that a boot patch won't save it.
I would have been lucky just to get back from Laughlin on that rear tire, without a puncture.
Desert chews them up fast.

Yeah, zero risk to you of someone else riding on a sketchy tire. :rolleyes

I have literally never heard of a plug causing any failure other than "didn't hold air".

Not in real life, not at the bar, not stories on the internet. Never. Lots of "it will fail", never "it did fail."

On the flip side, there are a metric ton of people who ride on plugged tires until they're dead as a doornail with no trouble. Patch and plug? Gravy.

Tires are way, way, way more durable than people give them credit for.

I plugged my last puncture, on a brand new Michelin Road 5, and rode home....and replaced it with a NEW Road 5. New tire + mounting is $275. ICU visit somewhat MORE!

Wow what a waste, I had the same thing happen to my Continental Sport attack tire, plugged it and rode that tire till I had to plug it again and rode till it was time to replace

Whammy would only plug to get out of a bad situation and make it home.
After that is time to call or go online to get a new one. :ride
