Oh my goodness. I’m glad you were home. That looks painful as fuck and I’m so glad Kaiser has treated her well.

Was she on the clock or just off of a work shift? Workers compensation might be interested :dunno social security disability? A brain bleed needs time to heal.

Glad to hear that the kids were able to visit.

How’s the dog? Was he around when it happened? I’m sure he’s happy when momma gets home :love
 
Wow! I’m glad you’re both doing better now. That is quite the shiner! And yeah, your experience with Kaiser mimics ours completely. They roll their eyes and wanna throw me in a cast when I show up with broken bones, no matter how bad it is, but when shit gets real they are the 100% on top of it. Guys it’s better that way than the other way around! Hoping for a quick and complete recovery for Krissy!

Luckily, I was home when it happened. When I got to her, she was face-down, totally unresponsive, and bleeding badly from a large laceration above her eye. I called 911. She didn't want to go to the hospital and said she just wanted to lie down and that she'd be fine (in shock, concussed, or both, I assume).
The Kaiser ER stitched up the wound and did a CT scan, which revealed a serious brain bleed developing. She was moved to the ICU the next morning and given a blood platelet transfusion. She has been getting CT scans every six hours, with a neurosurgeon monitoring the results. If the situation gets worse, she will need immediate surgery to relieve the pressure.
Every time I think Kaiser can't get any worse, something really serious happens, and they reveal just how on top of it they can be when the shit gets real... She (we) have been surrounded by truly wonderful people!
This hits me hard, as it's the same scenario that took out my Dad- a fall, followed by a brain bleed... even though he was 20+ years older and had other health issues.
Luckily, Krissy is one tough old broad!
I'm totally running on fumes, but trying my best to hold myself together. I gotta walk this dog, then get back to the hospital... I'm operating on pure adrenaline for now.

It happened at home. She's still wearing a boot on her broken foot, she must have gotten tripped up by it (she has no memory of before or immediately after)

Thanks for the offer, but everything is humming along fine around here. I'm just a little punchy from lack of sleep, but I should be 100% by tomorrow.

I am thinking I am scurred of veggies at the moment. Seems every time I am consuming lettuce, tomatoes etc my stomach is really complaining. I have had food poisoning twice in the last two weeks. :rant

Your body is finally acknowledging the fact that plants are trying to kill us! Especially the nightshades. Oxalate crystals are no joke.

but also, there seems to be a stomach bug circulating recently...my appetite hasn't come back 100% yet and it's been 10 days
