This article about a secret cave in Mt. Shasta popped up on SF Gate and if reminded me that AJ from the Why Files covered it a while ago. I enjoy the silly / factual and mysterious nature of his channel.

In 1934, at the foot of Northern California’s towering Mount Shasta, a geologist named J.C. Brown started telling a captivating story to anyone who would listen. He spoke of an 11-mile tunnel filled with gold and giant skeletons, and said it led straight to the heart of Mount Shasta, an active volcano. Lots of people believed Brown, and soon, he was organizing an expedition into the tunnel. But it never happened. Instead, mere days before the expedition was scheduled to depart, Brown mysteriously disappeared without a trace.

I love watching Nick Zentner speak, and his series on the geology of the PNW is so worth watching.

Another good video essay series is Patrick H. Willems' channel. He does really interesting analysis of different movies and genres and has a nicely sarcastic manner.

Zentner was a cool discussion. He is a good Prof.

He's got an entire lecture series on the Cascades and PNW geology that is excellent. I really enjoy how he breaks down the events that created the geography we know today and the enthusiasm for the topic that just bleeds through his entire being.

Another good geology watch is about how Yosemite was created. It's History channel but it's well done.

Love history channel. :thumbup

I find this stuff fascinating.

NetFlix channel has lots of good Earth life stuff.

I posted this in the 'Are you a race fan' thread. If you are interested in how guys like Marc Marquez, Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder and others made their way to the top level of Motorcycle Racing you might like this. 1 hour episodes.

I have been watching Born to Race.

Very interesting seeing the kiddo's going for it. Several of them are now in Moto3 (done in '23).
Some American top tier dudes have had success there. Cam Beaubier and Jake Gagne, two Superbike top tier gents racing at Laguna this weekend.

Some interesting Little League parenting too.

I'm sure many missed it, but at the MLB All Star Game, they paid tribute to Hank Aaron hitting 715 home runs (which broke Babe Ruths record). Notable, the ASG was on 7/15.

Its a great tribute, but, also, technically, it's quite spectacular, so even of you don't care for baseball, it's worth seeing.

Fitting for today.

This is a good one... early days to 2011 or so when it was done. I watched it again last night.

Very enjoyable.

FortNine is always a good watch.

Iron King and Cascade Heavy Rescue (Casey LaDelle) did a cheap bike challenge on OldWings. It's pretty fun.

Grind Hard Plumbing Company is usually a good watch.
