Have to pick 3 current models all from the same manufacturer you would take in your garage right now.

1290 superduke
690 supermoto
790 adventure R

What about you guys?

Does it have to be current?

If not:
XR1200X
2002 Road King Police
2002 Dyna Defender

Big Multistrada, little monster, V4R

Well do a list of each please one current list and one history list
Currently the only bike I want is the Sportster Roadster.
So, I would have 3 Sportster Roadsters I guess?

Nadda. I am lucky enough to have the two best bikes I have ever owned, right now.

I'd love to add an Indian FTR-1200, but I can't think of two other Indian's I'd want to sit next to it.

While I’d really like my next bike to be the Diavel 1260S, I don’t think I want anything else from Ducati. So I guess I stick with H-D.

Ultra Limited
Livewire
Fat Bob

Harley has enough history, it would be easy to do with used bikes:
1965 Electra Glide
2009-2010 Buell XB12X
2016+ Sportster Roadster

KTM is pretty easy
350 E-XCF
790 Adventure, tho possibly the R
Super Duke GT

I wonder if there's a manufacturer I couldn't do this with?

Honda:

"Current":
CB1000R
Goldwing
CBR1000RR

"Vintage":
RC31
RC45
RC51

1290 superduke
690 supermoto
790 adventure R

What about you guys?

Gotta say I'd take that list too.

If I had to have ONLY three bikes, they had to be current models, and from the same manufacturer... Yamaha it would be

Yamaha FJR1300
Yamaha T7 (ok not available in states yet... but europe)
Yamaha YZ250X

KTM might be able to do it.. but they dont really have a sport touring bike. But I could do one of the big KTM adventures, a 500EXC-f and a 300 XC-W. Three bikes are all kinds of compromises..... :x

But I cant imagine only three bikes hitting all the categories for me. I need a proper dirt bike, a dirt worthy dual sport, sport or naked sport bike, sport touring bike, trials bike, and some sort of adventure bike (preferably middle weight).

With that list, Honda would be the only one to be able to check off all the boxes, and there would be some compromise choices still.

Multistrada
Scrambler
V4

Would covers all my riding.

How about any old ones?

Here's my 1st pass at an Indian list.
841
Vindian
1968 Super Scout

I could come up with a completely different one though. Maybe one that wasn't mostly rare museum pieces.

Ducati Panigale V4
Ducati Supersport
Ducati V4 streetfighter soon to be announced and will have to wait for it. .

Only two from Harley

Fatbob and CVO Road Glide. I’m tired of my Sportster, but then again, I’ll keep my Springer. So I guess that’s three,:thumbup

If we are talking future bikes

RS660
RSV4 FW-GP
Tuono 1100 Factory

A man can dream right. The RSV4 would be a museum piece while the RS would be what I would actually try to start doing some track days on.
