Rumors are circulating that the California bikes were in route when tariffs hit and that it was turned back. This in the FB Group and on ADV Rider. My dealer has been excellent about updates and I have not heard this. With many things turning to s**t in my life lately I opted to reach out to CF Moto directly. I opened the following email this morning.

Gwynne,
This is false information. They are stateside, however we do not have the carb compliance yet for California. CFMOTO is working diligently to get this resolved as quickly as possible.

subjectIbex 450 California availability
messageIs it true that there are no Ibex450s allocated to California? Rumor has it that the ship was turned around because of the tariff situation.

I heard unicorns like skittles so if it helps throw some of those at them and maybe you can ride away on it.

Been lurking in the shadows hoping you get your new ride. Hopefully you get to ride your unicorn soon.

Unicorns are unicorns cause they're rare....and take a LONG time to catch.

It must be those Calif. saddles, Just a bit too restrictive to let the Pure Uni roam freely.

The Unicorn is not a beast of burden, plodding along, with all the weight of the world, grinding it.

More the light hearted travel, poaching magic thruways, of rural rewards, trees, rocks, streams, arranged with a touch of Zen , , ,
One grey on the floor with dealer plates,
One blue @ Monk's Rentals

As Steppinwolf sez,

Get your motor running, , ,

Well at least it's in the country, better than nothing, but CARB needs to hurry the F up.

I rode an Ibex 450 last weekend. Overall it's nice, but didn't tick the boxes for me like the Tenere 700.

Got my forking forks back yesterday, something about a part upside down in the fork leg.
Oil levels way off, That I knew, when I found the geyser, and rode it a couple of weeks, before repair.

I did see this, looking like a Beta 400 pump, maybe super new to the market, , ,
Still two grey Uni's, , ,

California Unicorns, to be released after Memorial Day??

Now, that there IS a good place to start, Gov. HairDo, , ,

What do you think of the Alp? It’s in the short list if the Univorn proves to be too elusive. Trouble is, I already have a 430 and don’t really want the same only different. The unicorn is street friendlier for rallies and such.

An "Alp" isn't in the '25 Beta brochure, this is why I'm confused.
Along with Zappers, I'm thin on info.
The Uni is way bigger as an ADV, vs this dual-sport, but both may be too tall for my transport.

the Alp is a nifty thing not sure it works for me

WEll, just got the straight skinny from my dealer. Rumors are true, the California bound ship loaded with Ibex 450s was redirected back to China. They are currently on the sea headed back to California, hoping to make it before minds change again. New ETA, sometime in July... :mad

Political trap! shit fuck piss what a stupid freaking political sink trap poli sink trap poli sink trap :mad 😡 :flag

Ugh G, hang in there.

Cool starry bra: one of my side projects is putting non-us spec OEM Toyota diesels into mid-90s Land cruisers.
A customer bought a freshly rebuilt ready to drop in engine from Europe to try and save time on his project, had it shipped here via air freight only to have it land at SFO and have the customs inspector red flag it for a non certified pallet, that was allegedly not made of the right type of certified wood.

Customer went down and tried to just get the engine off the pallet where it sat and let customs do whatever the hell they wanted with the evil pallet but they wouldn't let him.

They shipped the nearly 1000lb lump back to Europe, as it was.

Even better? When the seller went to receive it, the engine was damaged. Now we are trying to figure out this clusterfuck of who owns the engine, how to assess damage estimates, and getting it settled.

I'm glad the customer was handling this and I am not in any part of this cluster except waiting for this project to move forward
