Sounds almost like you believe in God :twofinger

Just give her more juice. She is there for a reason.

She did something beyond horrible wonder if a man would get the same verdict or if this type of crime is made more heinous by the very fact it was committed by a woman :dunno

Rope is cheaper than 25 years on death row. :2cents

I'm not for a humane death for inhumane murderers, but I'm really not ok with the extended time it takes to finalize justice for the victim.

Thanks G

I like to think I'm the same person in the box as I am in person, even if that's less of an asshole than I used to be.

I'm still an asshole.

Part of why I've started therapy but that's a different conversation. :loco
We are all assholes. The older I get, the more I realize that not only am I a complete asshole, but I am also a very caring and considerate person. I think most, if not all people are on this spectrum of attitudes and behaviors. As I get older, I recognize that all of us have moments and days (I'm having a frustrating one today) where we are at our worst, and days and moments where we are at our best. And most of the time, it's somewhere in the middle.

For me, it's about moving that middle line towards the caring considerate nice guy and away from the asshole. I'm a passionate guy, so I am never going to get rid of the angry lashing out. But if I do it less, or let more things run off my back and not worry about them, I'm less inclined to be frustrated so often. And the more often that happens, the more it moves the middle towards being better.

So I try. I try to understand everyone thinks different and even though I may want to punch someone in the face for their racist or shitty views, that person and their views probably don't affect me at all. I can simply ignore them and go about my day.

A perfect example is the discussion going on now. Two years ago, I would have had a strong opinion and argued it vociferously. But now, meh. I don't know. So I'd rather sit back and watch you guys discuss and argue it. Rather than going in to argue my side, I watch and learn.

Can't disagree with that, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Being the edgy teenager was a defensive mechanism to being bullied as a kid.

Being the edgy adult isn't as cool anymore.

Recently was called cancerous to a friend group as a first impression and it's sent me down a rabbit hole.

I'm a nice guy, I pretend people like me and that I have this awesome friend structure. I know I'm this caring person but I'm also a dick. I'm too proud of it and I've realized that where I am today is because of that.

Truth is I have been lucky to make some amazing acquaintances, have worked with some amazing colleagues, and have retained very few friends in life.

Just because people "like you" in public doesn't make them like you in their own private Idaho to where they want you in their life.

The hardest part of SAHD life has been that realization.

I've recognized it in just my conversations here in a few days of whoring. That freedom to be myself is awesome and why I gravitated here in the first place but... I don't currently like myself. I may be less of an asshole than I was 15 years ago, but...

Well anyways, buffet line is open.

No job today.

Kids are cute.

(Many little things are cute. I saw some super cute pugs today. One dark grey and one cream/white colored, which may have been a baby. Actually was jumping!)

Dude, I could have written that same thing. Holy crap.

Biggest issue I've had with therapy is that I actually understand my issue and it's cause. So when I sit down and explain why I'm there, I get a, "ok great, I like what you're doing and just keep moving forward"... It's about as helpful as a track coach saying, "you're really smooth out there, just keep doing that".

The goal is the scary part and I've yet to find any tools to help me begin with the fix.

If I change who I am because I don't like myself, what does that mean for the little in my life that likes me for who I am currently? I've seen marriages end because of self realization and change. I can't jeopardize my family because I wish I was a more liked person.

But, I don't want my kids to grow up and have the same issues I had. I don't want them to think being an asshole is ok just because they see me being an asshole. I don't want them to feel they have to force themselves onto people just to say they have a friendship. One way street relationships and the like.

So yeah... Deep thoughts with Koi...
