2011 Cadillac CTS-V Stolen 8.5.26 - FOUND 8.19.26 but destroyed

Bud- My coworker just retired and bought a beautiful home in Hollister that fits your description.
I am stuck local with all the Gkiddo's and Fam.

I have been surfing Zillow a bit, 3 car garages are rare.. and given the 1 story ask I think I will be looking for years. :laughing

And the BIG NEWS of the day. They found the car in Hayward.
Engine and transmission removed and who knows what else.
So long Bubba. We had a nice run. :(

Thank you CHP for actually doing your jobs.

I see slightly different specs on the car Paul.

Not that it really matters much. Seen a few used ones pop into my feed and there is big money to be saved. One looked good but a white leather interior..?? Bling for a bit I suppose.

My friend has an Austin Martin and a Ferrari in Petaluma. He’s into that kind of cars.
I’ll ask him to keep an eye out for the Austin Martin’s on the used market see what comes up.
Lots of nice cars here in Marin and Sonoma.
I was in Bel Marin Keys, the other day and a girl in a black Austin Martin rolled up on me on the stop light in my E 39 M Sport BMW gas it beyond belief when she left super badass cars.

RIP Bubba

Geez ….

I had an Acura light (greystone) coloured interior once. Hated it so much I sold the car. Will never have anything but black or some combo of mostly black.

That sucks, but at least you have closure. Now time for that Aston...

Never mind that within 2 years it would likely depreciate as much as the msrp on your Caddy which held its value well.
I don't disagree at all on the AM losing value quickly.

The Caddy did not hold its value for years. It was really the last 5 or so where it started creep up vs down.

Regarding the AM
I think on those after 3 years old the price comes down since warranty is up.
I think the 3 year warranty is unlimited milage but you would have to double check on that.

Re: stripped caddy

This is why I will only buy a used engine if the seller can prove ownership of it.

I ideally want to see it still in the car running, and check title before removal and purchase.

You never know if you're buying from a front from a chop shop on Facebook

Would you be able to fence the front of your house and have an electric gate for the driveway?

We talking Astons again? So the Vantage in its current form (AM platform) came out about 8 years ago. About 500hp and a little bump with the F1 package. Interior was a bit dated and used a several generation old Mercedes based infotainment system. Some mother notable variants are the AMR version which swaps out the ZF8 automatic for a 7-speed dogleg manual. Interesting to drive, but honestly the ZF8 is really the way to go here. Another variant is the V12 Vantage which swaps out the Mercedes V8 for of course a V12. And again honestly, unless you just have to have an Aston V12, the V8 is the better engine to have in this car.

For 2025, there was quite the update. The Mercedes V8 got upped to 650hp. And more importantly, the interior was redesigned so now we have a proper modern look with a state of the art infotainment. And now going forward (2027+), there will be no more “base” Vantage, and it will be Vantage S. A little power bump, some aesthetic changes, louder exhaust, and I believe some suspension changes too. It drives great. And it’s real fast.

You can get a screaming deal on a used pre update Vantage. But if you drive one of the 25+ ones, you’ll maybe justify the massive cost to get a new one. Best part about a brand new one is you can configure it soooo many different ways. Aston has one of the biggest color palettes for interior I’ve seen from any manufacturer.

But speaking of interior…if you can garage keep one of these? Ugh. Just wouldn’t do it. Aston’s leather is extremely sensitive to heat/UV and will shrivel up like a prune if exposed on a regular basis.

Come on down and drive one bud. Here’s a couple inventory cars…

Business outside party inside?

Fancy yourself a fan of the F1 team? This season’s performance, you’d have to bleed Aston green (actually this one is ironically called Podium Green) to stay faithful to them.

Nope.

The solution really is move the old files and shit into my small industrial space and park the car in the garage. I believe the Mrs will be down with that as most files are historical vs active.

Plenty of time to check that out.. double check finances and make a good (poor) decision on whatever it will be.

Not a F1 fanboy at all BTW.
Blue would be my vine.

If you're retired, move the old files into the circular file system. You won't need them. Alternately send them off to be digitized and shredded and keep the digital archive on a thumb drive.

bunch of people in here trying to solve @budman's problem that he didn't ask help solving! maybe he just wants to vent and we should be listening...

yea yea i know i provided a solution as well, but i'm trying! :laughing

Thanks for the stuff @TheRobSJ :thumbup

Definitely 25+ if I chase it and agreed it has to be garaged.
I sure don't want to drive something that awesome and get all emotionally tied to it.
